These beauties are 5 weeks old now but it feels like today is my first day of Mat leave as all my wonderful friends and colleagues head back to work. Can’t wait to see what the next 8 months brings me and my besties πŸ₯°πŸ’•πŸ’™ #proudmumma #teacheronpause

When your Year 9 class write the most incredible poems. Poems that make your eyes well with tears, poems that make you gasp because of just how brilliant they are. That is why I do this job. 🀩

To what extent do you agree with this statement? β€œTeaching Creative Writing is about recognising how freeing constraints or boundaries can be for students and more importantly it is about getting these right.”
What a stunning read! This book is beautiful. I’d highly recommend it. I am blown away πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Absolutely loving my time at Cambridge University. This experience is incredible. I cannot wait to use everything I’ve learnt in my practice and to spread the word of the power of creative writing. It goes beyond the subject of English and beyond the classroom ✍️

Do any fellow English teachers have some fun open evening activities for students to do when they visit our dept on their walk round? Hard to compete with Science experiments but I’ll try πŸ™Š
Absolutely buzzing πŸ™Œ I have been offered a place at Cambridge University. I will be studying for a Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching Creative Writing. Next year will be a busy year for me and I cannot wait! πŸ₯‚πŸŽ‰ πŸ“– ✍️ πŸ€“

Calling all A level teachers who teach Chaucer. We are providing A Level taster sessions for our year 11s before they leave us. We are going to introduce The Wife of Bath, The Miller and The Merchant as these appear on most specs. 1/2

How did you approach the vulgarity of the Miller’s tale? We are only doing a brief synopsis type thing as we are doing some context work, general prologue enquiry and looking at the evolution of language prior to introducing these key characters. 2/2
Are there any published authors out there looking to inspire teachers on how best to teach the magic of creative writing or better still are you able to come and visit our students themselves? #Inspire #creativewriting #teach @JDawsonwriter πŸ€—
