Russia is a multinational state, home to more than 190 ethnic groups.
Russian citizenship and Russian ethnicity are NOT the same fucking thing.
Tatars, Bashkirs, Chechens, Buryats, Sakha, and many other peoples live within the Russian Federation.
Many of these peoples have their own histories, languages, cultures, and national identities. Their territories were incorporated into the Russian state through centuries of conquest, colonization, and imperial expansion.
The Russian Federation is not the same thing as the ethnic Russian nation.
And let’s talk about Crimea.
Crimea is Ukrainian territory under Russian occupation.
It is the historical homeland of the Crimean Tatars, an Indigenous people who have faced deportation, persecution, and repression under Russian and Soviet rule.
Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars live in Crimea. Russia’s occupation does not erase their identities or Ukraine’s internationally recognized borders.
And stop pretending that Donbas is somehow Russian territory just because the Kremlin says so.
Donbas is Ukraine. Crimea is Ukraine. Russia invaded Ukraine.
Learn the difference between ethnicity, citizenship, nationality, imperial conquest, and internationally recognized borders before lecturing a Ukrainian about her own country.

Today I was denied entry into the West Bank, alongside other parliamentary colleagues from across Europe as part of a @ProgIntl delegation.
We were held for 8 hours, interrogated and ultimately prevented from crossing the border.
I came to stand alongside Palestinians being attacked for harvesting olives on their own land. Instead, we were turned away, with no reason given.
More than ever, Palestinians are being subject to terror and violence by the IDF and illegal settlers. Increased blockades, demolitions and unthinkable violence have become the norm for Palestinians in the West Bank.
It is more important now than ever that we bear witness and show our solidarity.
But we were prevented from doing so.
I will continue to do everything I can to apply pressure on the Netanyahu government, and those responsible for the persecution and genocide of the Palestinian people.

12-year-old Artem Koval died in hospital today from injuries he got when a Russian drone struck a park in Nova Vodolaha. His 8-year-old sister, Arina, was killed that day, too.

I am deeply outraged by Melania Trump’s statement regarding the evacuation of civilians from Russian-occupied Oleshky.
“Some will want to go to Russia, and some to Ukraine.”
Excuse me, but OLESHKY IS UKRAINE! It is a city in the Kherson region, occupied by the Russian Federation.
Why are we once again talking about Russia and Ukraine as though they are two equally legitimate parties simply offering civilians different destinations?
Russia is the country that occupied this city.
For years, people have been living under occupation, isolation and catastrophic humanitarian conditions.
According to journalistic reports, civilians attempting to escape Oleshky and reach Ukrainian-controlled territory have been killed by drone strikes.
So what freedom of choice are we talking about?
I support any genuinely safe humanitarian operation that can save civilian lives.
But evacuation must not become a tool for legitimising occupation or removing responsibility from the aggressor.
We need independent international observers, genuine security guarantees, protection against coercion, and safe routes allowing civilians to reach Ukrainian-controlled territory.
And most importantly, no humanitarian agreement changes Ukraine’s internationally recognised borders.
RUSSIA OCCUPIED OLESHKY. RUSSIA BEARS RESPONSIBILITY FOR PROTECTING THE RIGHTS OF CIVILIANS UNDER ITS OCCUPATION.
Helping people is essential.
But humanitarian assistance must never become a political justification for occupation.
And we must stop presenting the aggressor and the victim of aggression as though they bear equal responsibility.
Oleshky is Ukraine. Kherson is Ukraine. Occupation does not change sovereignty.
