I think they should let the people see the mummies but god if this doesn't sum up a lot of people in Britain today: 'Why should we develop our critical thinking skills beyond GCSE English?!'
Been thinking about the Mummies at @KelvingroveArt and the application of modern sensibilities to works of art & artefacts. Everyone who did GCSEs knows the intro to the Go-Between “The past is another country; they do things differently there” why can’t we just leave it at that?
🚨 NEW: The Worst of Westminster looks at what SW1 big beasts have in their Andy Burnham-recommended emergency stockpile

A man who boasts on his LinkedIn: 'strategist and architect of Labour’s five national missions [under Starmer]'

Exc: Peter Hyman expected to enter No. 10 to write Burnham's Ten Year Plan

Important to know re:Jackdaw!
Replying to @HMorrison97
It's a particularly weak argument because the contrast also lies with LNG rather than Norwegian gas which accounts for most British imports.
If the main argument for Jackdaw is that it's better than importing dirtier foreign gas, it clearly isn't much better...
Incredible that we're allowed to say I support Palestine Action now and it isn't a terrorist offence because it was fine for the wife of the national security adviser to do it!
thenational.scot/news/266465…
It is hard to see how Jonathan Powell remains in post if his wife is a supporter of an officially-designated terrorist group
That wouldn't fly if she'd said she backed Hamas or ISIS, would it?
Unless these things are somehow...different...
🚨 EXC*: I give readers an exclusive insight into Andy Burnham's inner monologue as he blew up Labour's Unionist credentials in Scotland
*not really
Worst of Westminster out now: thenational.scot/news/266452…
A Government spokesperson responds to national security adviser Jonathan Powell's wife Sarah Helm expressing support for Palestine Action, contrary to the Terrorism Act
Pretty sad state of affairs for Scottish politics as most Scots have *no opinion at all* of the party leaders other than SNP
Grim reading too for John Swinney - who once bragged of being the most popular politician in Scotland - as SNP conference kicks off...
The samizdat operation to get Sally Rooney's next book into Daunt tote bags across Britain will be something to behold
Sally Rooney's books can no longer be sold in Britain due to her support for Palestine Action.
She refused to withdraw her support for the direct action group which targeted the Israeli arms industry, costing her the royalties from all of her UK sales.

Andy Burnham's new deal with Europe is exactly the same stuff that Keir Starmer tried to do before he got chucked out. It is literally incredible how far vibes can take you in Westminster
There was no 'Burnham bounce' in Holborn and St Pancras
thenational.scot/news/266245…
This is very interesting from Humza Yousaf, who suggests taking the indyref2 'impasse' to a third body like a UN agency or a trusted outside state mediator...
Replying to @ginadavidsonlbc
On independence he backed John Swinney’s hope that Burnham is last UK PM but adds “we've got an impasse between two governments. We have to find a way, potentially with a third-party broker coming in and negotiating and mediating. Who could that be? I don't know…
