They always start by coming for the guns... "The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
In one of her first acts as governor-elect, Sen. @amyklobuchar affirmed that she will go after Minnesotans' firearms under the guise of "safety." "The gun safety bill is going to get passed...it certainly should be one of our top priorities."

I will never forget the day Stephen Miller went on CNN and carefully walked the host through the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 who had no clue what she was talking about at all One of the most amazing things I've ever seen on TV

Stephen Miller was born for the Chief of Staff role. This is genuinely one of the greatest interviews I've ever watched in my life. CNN’s Jake Tapper came in with a “gotcha” question on illegal immigration, and Miller didn’t flinch and even offered to stay 30 MINUTES to walk Tapper through it. Tapper: How are you going to avoid deporting illegal immigrants working in agriculture? Miller: “Only 1% of alien workers in the entire country work in agriculture. The top destinations for illegal aliens are large cities like New York, like Los Angeles...” Tapper: “You’re kinda changing this subject.” Miller: “Give me 30 minutes, I’ll go as deep as you want!”

The war itself is not the problem. It was the poor messaging around the war. Since we have more crude oil on hand now than when the war started, R's should have hit on the lack of refining capacity as the reason gas prices are high. And they will go higher now.

A few days have passed, and the whole “Iran war caused GOP losses” explanation is still being peddled as unquestionable gospel. Of course the war played a role. But pinning everything on it, however politically convenient that may be for various people, is going to do a lot more damage because it allows Republicans to ignore far more fundamental problems. And the biggest of those problems is the Republican Party itself. I mean, my goodness. Donald Trump pulled off the greatest comeback of all time. He nearly got killed in the process. He came back from what everyone said was an impossible position and handed the GOP the White House. And how did these feckless ingrates repay him? They immediately set about sabotaging his agenda, obstructing his appointments, and undermining everything he had fought so hard to achieve. It started with the Department of Justice, which, after everything that happened during Trump’s first term, everyone knew was the single most important place to get right. Matt Gaetz, whatever one thinks of his positions on this or that, would have been an absolute burn-it-all-down warrior at DOJ. So, naturally, the Republicans made sure that couldn't happen. Instead, we got Pam Bondi, who was hopelessly out of her depth, and a crucial year in which so much desperately needed to be done was lost. Or look at Ed Martin. I've never met a happier warrior than Ed, someone with the energy, determination, and understanding of what needed to be done. So, of course, they had to destroy his appointment as U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, the most important U.S. attorney position in the entire country. Can't have people like that in positions of power, apparently. Same story at the CDC, where Republicans derailed David Weldon's nomination because they didn't like what he was saying about vaccines. The list goes on and on. And that's just the personnel. There's also the SAVE Act, the blue slip rule, the filibuster, and countless other examples of Republicans standing in the way of their own president and his agenda. And as for the filibuster, does anyone seriously believe Democrats will now show the same reverence for it? Of course they won't. They'll demolish it without a second thought, while Republicans will congratulate themselves on having preserved some imaginary principle of Senate tradition. And that, right there, is the rotten core of the problem. Donald Trump did the impossible. He handed Republicans a historic opportunity, and starting the morning after his victory, they set about squandering it, sabotaging his agenda, and undermining all the people who might have made his second term a success. There are always many reasons why elections go the way they do, and I'm sure the Iran war was one of them. But if Republicans spend the next two years blaming the war while refusing to confront their own catastrophic failures, they will have learned absolutely nothing.

The developer luxury housing project is on California Private Land on the border of Yosemite National Park. How can it give the developer "rare private access to the heart of the park"... When it doesn't even lead to Park Property? Here is a view of where the road would turn off Big Oak Flat Road just within the park boundaries. It will be built through existing Wildfire burn areas. Not "pristine old growth trees"...

Let’s put this into the proper perspective on just how much is being considered and why The proposal would transfer that sliver of park land—described as roughly a quarter-mile strip—to Kingsbarn Realty Capital, a Nevada-based real-estate firm that owns about 83 acres of undeveloped property immediately outside the park. The company wants to use the parcel to build a short private road connecting its land to a main park thoroughfare, avoiding a much longer existing route. In return, Kingsbarn would give the National Park Service land of equivalent value, either near Yosemite or elsewhere in California. theguardian.com A quarter mile sliver to create a road to connect to the main thoroughfare

Pure TDS-driven bullshit, as usual. 🙄 teapaw.org/SrsTwist1/status/20936…
Our enemy media lies again. The real Yosemite story is a tiny sliver of the western edge of the park is being traded for a new, more direct access road across private property. Our most crowded Natl Park is being *improved*, not sold off to developers. 🙄 tinyurl.com/5fshy4jy

Just voted in commie NoVa. Showed up, checked in, were immediately told a mail in ballot had already been submitted for my husband. I cannot overstate how important it is to show up today. This would not have been caught if we had not gone in person. We might not make much of a difference where we live, but like hell are we going to let them take what little voice we do have.

Bill Maher Challenges Charlie Rose: “Islam is not like other religions. It is a unique threat.” Bill Maher: I think liberals should stop booing me for pointing out that Islam is not like other religions, that it is a unique threat. Charlie Rose: But it's not Islam you're against. Bill Maher: Howard Dean said, “The people in ISIS... I'm about as Islamic as they are,” distancing the vast numbers of Muslims around the world from it. That's just not true. Charlie Rose: It is true. Bill Maher: It is not true, Charlie. There is a connecting tissue between Charlie Rose: You mean behind every Muslim is a future member of some radical Bill Maher: Let me finish. There are illiberal beliefs held by vast numbers of Muslims that I don't think have Charlie Rose: Vast numbers of Christians, too. Bill Maher: No, that's not true. Vast numbers of Christians don't believe that if you leave Christianity, you should be killed. They don't treat women as second-class citizens, and they don't believe drawing Jesus should get you killed. Does ISIS kill people indiscriminately who aren't like them? Yes. Would most Muslims do that or condone it? No. But most Muslims in the world do condone violence just for what you think. Charlie Rose: How do you know that? Bill Maher: First of all, they say it. There's a Pew poll of Egypt where 82% said stoning was the appropriate punishment for adultery, and over 80% thought death was appropriate for leaving Islam. So to claim this religion is like other religions is naive and wrong. Saudi Arabia has also beheaded people for nonviolent crimes, including homosexuality. Charlie Rose: They even cut the hands off a thief. Bill Maher: Right. We're upset when ISIS beheads people, as we should be, but Saudi Arabia does it too, and they're our friends because they have oil. This is the centre of the religion. In Mecca, non-Muslims aren't even allowed into the holy part of the city. If people were being beheaded in Vatican City, don't you think there'd be a bigger outcry? This is the soft bigotry of low expectations. When Muslim people do or believe things we consider extreme, it's somehow not discussed nearly as much. Charlie Rose: I don't believe what we see with ISIS represents Islam. I don't think the Quran teaches them to do this. Bill Maher: Well, you're wrong about that. The Quran absolutely has horrible things about how infidels should be treated. And can we really say women are treated equally in the Muslim world? Their testimony in court is often counted as half. They may need permission to leave the house, and women are forced to wear burqas. And I hear liberals say, “Well, they want to.” They've been brainwashed.

The NYT's attack on Sen. Roger Marshall is outrageous. Why are doctors the only people in the country who don't deserve to be paid? How about editors and reporters - why don’t they give their salaries to these layabouts on "disability" who demand medical services, and then refuse to pay? The average OB/GYN sees a thousand patients a year. That means Dr. Marshall probably saw 25,000 patients and THE NEW YORK TIMES IS DISGUSTED that he submitted 700 unpaid bills to his lawyers. SEVEN HUNDRED out of 25,000 - that means he pursued unpaid bills from LESS THAN 3% OF HIS PATIENTS. I like the woman who refuses to pay for her C-section and complains she got served by a lawyer two years later WHEN SHE WAS PREGNANT AGAIN. Uh, miss — if you can’t afford to pay for the delivery of your first child, how about learning to use birth control? Not only that, but she irresponsibly failed to sign up for Medicaid which would have paid all medical bills related to her pregnancy FREE. ("Free” meaning: "Ann Pays More.”) Oops, she f-ed up, so the doctor doesn't get paid. And this arrogant, entitled narcissist complains about having to pay for the birth of her child: "I had to choose whether I’d pay my electricity or pay $50 to a doctor who didn’t need it.” After practicing obstetrics for a quarter century and being part owner of the hospital, Dr. Marshall’s combined salary was  $780,000.  What's Pinch Sulzberger’s salary? How about Maureen Dowd? Why don't you guys pay for these slackers, instead of a rural doctor who delivered thousands of babies and -- unlike a lot of doctors -- accepted Medicaid patients. Or Sarah Kliff -- who can't deliver babies, but DID review "thousands of pages of court records and interviewed eight people whom Roger Marshall sued over medical debt." The Times should refuse to pay you for your work, Sarah. It's bad enough that these layabouts think they have a God-given right not to pay doctors, but appalling that overpaid journalists think it's a moral crusade to back them IN NOT PAYING FOR SERVICES THEY ACCEPTED. 🔥 THEY SAID IT NEVER HAPPENS… UNTIL IT DID RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEIR FACES 🔥 A CNN panel just exploded. Bush White House spokesman Pete Seat is sitting THREE FEET from Obama’s own strategist David Axelrod… And he drops the nuclear truth: “Barack Obama got on the 2008 Indiana primary ballot because Democrats in St. Joseph County submitted FRAUDULENT petition signatures. People — including the county Democratic chair — went to JAIL over it. He shouldn’t have been on that ballot.” Axelrod freezes. “How did that get determined?” Seat doesn’t flinch: “It was exposed TWO YEARS later. Went through the courts. People went to jail. That’s the problem… nobody caught it before he was already on the ballot.” FACT CHECK: 100% TRUE ✅ In 2013, four Indiana Democrats were CONVICTED for forging those signatures — literally copying names off old petitions. Even a former governor’s name was forged. County Democratic Chairman Butch Morgan went to PRISON for orchestrating it. The thing they swore “never happens”… HAPPENED. And a party chairman did hard time for it. Election fraud isn’t a “conspiracy theory.” It’s a documented crime. And they got away with it long enough to change history. Share this before they try to memory-hole it. FOLLOW ME FOR MORE INTELS DROPS

From another friend: JFK'S Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60's when DeGaulle decided to pull out of NATO. DeGaulle said he wanted all US military out of France as soon as possible. Rusk responded, "Does that include those who are buried here?" DeGaulle did not respond. You could have heard a pin drop. When in England, at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of 'empire building' by George Bush. He answered by saying, "Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those who did not return." You could have heard a pin drop. There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying, "Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intend to do, bomb them?" A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: "Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck. We have eleven such ships. How many does France have?" You could have heard a pin drop. A U.S. Navy admiral was attending a naval conference that included admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian, and French navies at a cocktail reception. He found himself standing with a large group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks when a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, "Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?" Without hesitating, the American admiral replied, "Maybe it's because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies, and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak German." You could have heard a pin drop. AND THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE... Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane. At French customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on. "You have been to France before, monsieur?" the customs officer asked sarcastically. Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously. "Then you should know enough to have your passport ready." The American said, "The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it." "Impossible. Americans always have to show their passports on arrival in France!" The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained, ''Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn't find a single Frenchmen to show a passport to." You could have heard a pin drop. I am proud to be an American, and proud of this God given heritage!
