Core fucosylation of IL-2RB is required for natural killer cell homeostasis dlvr.it/TMJ4p5
It's great to have this work from my PhD out now in Cell Reports!
This work showed the importance of core fucosylation on NK cells. When core fucose is lost, NK cells will experience reduced CD122 expression, impaired cytotoxicity and severe lymphopenia.

Delighted to share our new approach to enhance CAR T cell function in solid tumours published today @Nature. In this work we identify a new strategy to generate armoured CAR T cells. nature.com/articles/s41586-0…
This past week, I was lucky enough to attend the bioinformatics bootcamp in Orlando, Florida, organised by CRI. @CancerResearch
As a wet lab scientist, I was expecting to struggle with the basics of coding.
However, thanks to some expert tuition I have left with a wealth of knowledge on the workflows required to analyse and present bulk and single-cell RNAseq, spatial transcriptomics and even a custom workflow to automate the graphing of my own flow cytometry data!

Congrats @HSudholz on the PhD thesis defence. Was a ripping defence, reminded me of Brandon Starcevich in the Grand Final 🦁 – at Melbourne, Victoria
Phd thesis submitted, what a journey. Thanks to @Dr_Nick_Bikes and @SebScheer for their supervision over the past few years. Hawthorn will be back next year.
Another PhD thesis submitted from Huntington Lab @MonashBDI Congrats @HSudholz on a high quality 3 years of NK cell discoveries. C'arn the Hawks!!!

NK cells are an important anti-cancer defense, but what happens if they turn into a different cell type?
A new study from @SebScheer @Dr_Nick_Bikes identified a gene without which NK cells turn into a weaker cell type, making them worse at fighting cancer.

Thrilled to have this story out online @ImmunityCP!! Together with @SunLab_Official, we highlight how dietary fasting improves NK cell anti-tumor immunity and examine the tissue-specific processes that drive these improved responses 🧵cell.com/immunity/fulltext/S…

Thrilled to announce a new publication from the Huntington Lab, featuring key works from my PhD project.
This was a collaborative effort with many thanks going to @SebScheer now at @LIH_Luxembourg, @Dr_Nick_Bikes and co-authors from the @MonashBDI.

We having identified a key role for histone methyltransferase, DOT1L, in regulating the epigenetic landscape of NK cells.
Loss of DOT1L in NK cells skews their conversion into an ILC1-like subset, limiting their capacity to control solid tumours and expand in viral infections.

We demonstrate that Histone methyltransferase, DOT1L, limits NK cell conversion to ILC1s, a subset that can be observed in tumors in response to TGF-β and is correlated with poor tumor control @HSudholz
