You can’t escape its clutches. Just in time for #Halloween, the Pillars of Creation reach back out like a ghostly hand. The eerie landscape, captured this time by Webb’s mid-infrared instrument (MIRI), spotlights ancient curtains of dust in new detail: go.nasa.gov/3DGI2ws

Really liking these reverse-mount RGB LEDs: digikey.com.au/en/products/d… Combined with some clear resin mixed with just a drop of titanium dioxide based white dye makes for a pretty good diffuse indicator. I've also used the PCB as an end plate for aluminum extrusion enclosure

In tonight's review of the project, we discovered that some things worked better if you take your shoes and socks off. (Lessons learned about ground and capacitance)

Working on a SAO for the @linuxconfau, a mini party button! Works on the main badge or as a desk toy after the conf. Can't wait to see these made up. Thanks for the help @mage0r, @jonoxer and @geekscape! #badgelife #PCBart

Single use vaping devices are yet another ecological and public health cancer (IMO)... but can we repurpose them (after thorough disinfection)? A thread (1/7)

I'm not saying it's happening again, but I'm not not saying it's happening again, in LCA2022. 🙌 @swagbadge2021

The main-board wiring is finished! All of the steppers and accessories are functional. It's technically capable of printing right now but the top still needs some consideration.

the switch actually changes the clock speed from “everything is a blur” to something you can actually see with eyes. M1 lights when fetching an instruction, plus you can see individual writes and reads on the bus and the exact addresses where they’re happening. This was the goal!

Hi @VictorianCHO @JamesMerlinoMP @VicGovDH I've thrown together a visualisation of exposure sites in Victoria using some data.gov.au data and your exposure site list. It's interactive and pretty easy to update. kerriwait.github.io/lockdown… #melbournelockdown2021

This is a historic moment for me and @ChrisFryer78! After months of messing around we can now drive a Permobil electric wheelchair using our zero-deflection joystick, with only a tiny force required and no joystick movement at all. Huge for people with Duchenne muscular dystrophy

Who's got two eyes, and some safety glasses for transit and a superhero mask (Daredevil style)? ME! These photos show how we are planning on making sure the display screens won't get cracked, crushed or otherwise broken when we post them out. Also! Sneak peek of the PCB! 😍

On tomorrow's livestream I'm going to talk about what happens with PCB production run leftovers, the @swagbadge2021 conference badge project for @linuxconfau, crazy tricks with bending screens to make them work as buttons, and more! Come and join the fun: youtu.be/d02arsbvVF8

Today’s discussion still is heavily revolving around how to stop users stabbing themselves on pointy bits. Those SAO headers poke up riiiight below the OLED screens which are also buttons. Right where your finger might go when button pushing. 🩸👈☹️
