There's a difference between fighting for a relationship and fighting to make someone choose you. One means both people are willing to understand each other, work through problems, and make genuine efforts. The other means you're constantly questioning your worth, changing yourself to avoid upsetting them, and accepting less than you need because you're afraid they'll leave. Love will require compromise sometimes, but it shouldn't require you to disappear as a person. You can care deeply about someone and still recognize when a relationship is costing you your peace. The right connection won't ask you to abandon yourself just to prove that you care.
