Entitlement is at an all time high in team sports today & people wonder why so many people are getting out of coaching/sports writing 🤦🏻♀️
Everybody doesn’t get a trophy for just showing up. Go to work & earn it every day.

Summer AAU/Club sports are great but there is something special about student-athletes competing against rival schools, in front of a crowd of community members, friends, and family, after attending classes all day, while playing alongside teammates who are also their classmates.

If you have a coach, teacher, parent or mentor who holds you accountable you are blessed.
Too many leaders shy away from confrontation and accept low standards with minimal expectations.
If someone pushes you for greatness you have someone who truly cares about you & loves you.

On top of what Coach Black is pointing out here. Coaches who aren’t near Greensboro have to come and spend the night & time away from family + take off work from summer jobs (teachers aren’t paid for summer).
Something’s gotta change, or we will have a coaching shortage.

Today, a female coach was denied entry to @NCCoachesAssn clinic because she brought her 4 month old nursing baby in a stroller.
What an example @HaleyHackett is for young girls that you can be a rockstar mom & excel in your career.
Big miss for the NCCA.
