E153: The Great Capital Shift: Bitcoin, AI, & The Importance of Personal Branding w/ @RobinSeyr
@RobinSeyr is one of the hardest-working Bitcoin podcasters in the space. His mission is clear:
"I will not shut up about Bitcoin until it’s the base layer of the financial industry."
The Coldcard hack, Bitcoin ATMs and heating your home with mining.
@shaunsomers is back on Halving Report.

Need a couple hundred dollars of Bitcoin? You don't need an exchange. Show up to your local meetup and say you're looking to buy. @shaunsomers on how it works in Niagara.
The first Bitcoin block has a newspaper headline buried inside it.
January 3, 2009. "Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks", written into the coinbase of block zero, which also proved the chain could not have been mined any earlier.
A timestamp and a thesis in the same line of code.
Two things on the site that teach more than another explainer will:
Satoshi Stacker, where you feel the issuance curve instead of reading about it.
Halving Rush, which is exactly what it sounds like.
Both free, both in the browser, no signup: halvingreport.com
May 2023. @adamobrien_: "CBDCs are meant to trick people into getting those instead of Bitcoin." Neither "have fun staying poor" nor "CBDCs are fine" gets us to hyperbitcoinization.
Before you install a wallet, check the signature.
Most serious wallet projects publish a signed list of file checksums with every release. A few minutes of checking proves the file you downloaded is the file the developers built.
"Don't trust, verify" starts before your first sat.
SatoshiDice once made up about half of all Bitcoin transactions. Its founder sold it for 126,315 BTC, settled with the SEC, turned ShapeShift into a DAO, and now runs a $1B AI company.

The hard part of a buying plan is never the plan. It is the weeks where you want to override it.
A schedule keeps working on the days conviction does not, and it takes out the one input most people are worst at: timing.
The DCA calculator on the site runs any schedule against real history: halvingreport.com
The most underrated habit in Bitcoin is looking things up yourself.
Paste a transaction ID into an explorer and you can see the inputs, the outputs, the fee paid, and the block it landed in. No support ticket, no waiting, no taking anyone's word for it.
Explorer is on the site if you don't have one you like: halvingreport.com
He invented Hashcash, the proof of work behind Bitcoin mining. He runs Blockstream. And in April 2026 he had to say it again: "I'm not satoshi."

Five years ago today, the first US bitcoin ETF started trading.
ProShares' BITO held futures contracts, not bitcoin. Spot ETFs didn't show up until January 2024.
Wall Street got exposure. It still didn't get your keys. That part stays yours.
You can draw the entire future of Bitcoin's supply on one curve, and it has not moved since 2009.
Every 210,000 blocks the subsidy halves. 50, 25, 12.5, 6.25, 3.125, and down until the last fraction of a satoshi sometime in the 2140s.
The visualizer on the site walks the whole curve: halvingreport.com
The question most single signature setups cannot answer: what happens if you don't come home.
Multisig splits the keys so that no one location, and no one person, is the whole plan. Two of three is the common shape.
It is more setup than a seed on steel. It is also the only version that outlives you.
Why cap a community at 150 people?
Dunbar's number. Your brain can only really keep up with about 150 relationships, online or off.
@TomPeterGill explains.
What the halving changes for you as a holder: nothing.
Your coins do not move. Your keys do not change. No balance gets cut.
What changes is how fast new supply arrives. 3.125 BTC a block now, 1.5625 after block 1,050,000. It is a miner revenue event that everyone else feels second hand.
Why do so many Bitcoiners end up in Chiang Mai?
@JimmyKostro: developers, sovereign individuals, and a community that keeps pulling people in.
"Just come and see for yourself."
Bitcoin can say "not yet."
A transaction can be locked so it's only valid after a certain block height or date. No escrow agent, no reminder email. The network just refuses it until the time comes.
It's how inheritance plans and payment channels work without trusting anyone to wait.
Bitcoin on halving day:
2012: $12
2016: $650
2020: $8,700
2024: $63,500
2028: ?
@shaunsomers makes his call.
