I'm HalxDocs — backend engineer building in Go. I build tools I need and tools others need too then ship them. Open to freelance and contract work in APIs, SaaS backends, and dev tools.
Shipped more than a few this year. Here are 3:
reqit — a local-first, git-native API client. Built in Go + Wails + React. HTTP, REST, GraphQL, SSE, WebSockets, mTLS client auth, collection runner, mock server, BYOK AI layer. Postman, but yours. 500+ downloads so far.
DLQ Inspector — Go CLI for inspecting, patching, and safely replaying failed messages stuck in dead-letter queues. RabbitMQ + Redis Streams now, Kafka/SQS next. Dry-run by default because I don't trust bulk replays, including my own.
274Lab — JAMB/UTME exam prep platform for Nigerian students. React + Firebase. Timed quizzes, weak-topic detection, leaderboards, ₦800 subscription. Working on scaling it for exam-day traffic spikes.
Three different problems, one thread: build the tool you wish existed, then ship it.
More coming.

I've been learning Raft in Go to understand how distributed systems handle consensus, leader election, and node failures.
I wrote about what I've learned and how the project is helping me grow as a developer.

One short "anyone hiring for backend?" post got me the most useful conversation of my week.
@boardyai connected me with someone worth talking to. Might turn into a call.
Still open to Go backend roles or contract work, 3.5 years in.

Day 9 of @boardyai's 30 Days. It ran its network against all four of my lanes and came back with nothing.
So I'm writing to people directly now. Go backend roles or contract work, 3.5+ years.
