BREAKING Andy Burnham has finished his conference speech with a strong hint that he will abandon Labour red lines on further integration with the European Union Burnham said it was clear that Brexit had not worked for Britain and pledged to set out options for a closer relationship with the EU later this year This could include a plan to rejoin the EU’s single market and customs union - or even a full return to the bloc “We will not give Britain the clear path we need into the rest of the century until we decide on a long-term relationship with what is still our largest market,” he said “I cannot say to you that where we are is good enough. Brexit has done more harm than good “So, I will take the opportunity around the summit to lay out to the country what I believe the different options are for Britain’s long-term relationship with our European partners. “And I will see if we can find consensus around one which will give us clarity about the future on our continent.” He said that Brexit has 'done more harm than good' and that where we are is 'not good enough;

“For too long, domestic abuse has been described as a ‘hidden crime’. No more. It is time for politicians to…stand with victim & survivors, & transform the lives of millions across our country” Excellent article in @TheSun on what the next govt must do to tackle domestic abuse

1 in 5 voters will have faced domestic abuse. As we prepare for a general election, we need bold commitments on domestic abuse from all parties. The next PM must lead a cross-departmental mission to transform the response to domestic abuse. My vision 👇 thesun.co.uk/news/28108837/d…

this briefing from @CommissionerDA shows why a data-sharing firewall is necessary for the protection of migrant victims endlessly grateful to all who contributed and for the tireless years of campaigning by @lawrsuk @SBSisters @EVAWuk @Safety4Sisters that this work is built on
📢Today I reveal that ALL police forces in England & Wales have shared the data of migrant #DomesticAbuse victims. @ukhomeoffice must end this practice that stops victims from reporting and allows abusers to evade justice. 1/3 #SafetyBeforeStatus bbc.co.uk/news/uk-67357025

Really encouraging to hear @ACLouisaRolfe calling to “remove this barrier to reporting” & emphasising the importance of “safeguarding all victims of domestic abuse” The #VictimsBill is the Govt’s opportunity to do this

The findings of @Casey_Review could not be more distressing or damning The survivors' experiences laid out in this report are profoundly appalling + incredibly harrowing The time for lip service is over I meet @SuellaBraverman on Monday to discuss bit.ly/3JWpXh8

Important cost benefit analysis frm @LSEnews @MigObs shows extending support could generate overall gains of around £2 billion over next decade. Police, NHS, childrens services & housing are currently forced to pick up pieces when the situation accelerates to an emergency 3/4

The case for @ukhomeoffice extending support couldn’t be clearer. Very pleased to see such strong cross party political support and from expert orgs for these solutions. #SafetyBeforeStatus 4/4
ICYMI: @CommissionerDA has published a ground breaking study on the provision of #domesticabuse services. Some headlines: Only 35% of people were able to find support very easily As many at 74% of ppl wanted counselling-only 45% got it Full details 👇🏽 domesticabusecommissioner.uk…

Thank you so much @Sistah_Space for making a stand. Racist conversations about where you’re from, “no really from” are relentless & I often feel disempowered to challenge when people ask me. I hope this makes people think twice before they think this is acceptable
