Leratiomyces ceres (Redlead Roundhead) I think. It looks right and the habitat was right (sandy soil, near pine, by a path). Any other views? An alien from Australia, this seen in Surrey 22/10/26 #fungi

A lovely guest testimonial for Orchids of Rhodes, thanks Steph!
Did we mention there may be lots of orchids?! While we don't neglect the rarities, we're there for the sheer spectacle too.

With several bookings received today for 2028 orchid tours, we're wondering who'll secure the last two places available on Orchids of Rhodes led by Orchid Summer author @dunnjons & professional plant photographer Sarah Cuttle on 24-31 March 2028?

What an incredibly beautiful Bolete found in a very wet part of the New Forest, this week. It could be the relatively uncommon Xerocomellus ripariellus (or perhaps X. cisalpinus). May get a more definitive ID next week. Whatever it is, it’s very lovely. #fungi #NewForest

Our commitment to donate to science-led conservation charities that demonstrate tangible in-the-field results has been steadfast since day one of the Mariposa journey. We donate to them quickly after tours conclude. We know that matters to them, and it certainly matters to us.
