Sergey said this almost word for word in the keynote: tokenization isn't the killer app, lending and credit are. Tokenization is the phone. Credit is the app inside it. 👌👌👌
My biggest takeaway from attending LINK:NYC yesterday:
Tokenization is just the beginning
What excites me most is what comes next: the entirely new financial products, services, and workflows that become possible when assets, data, and financial systems can interact seamlessly onchain
That was the focus Chainlink brought to the conference, and it was reflected throughout my conversations with industry leaders and fellow attendees
The conversation has evolved beyond bringing assets onchain to building useful, valuable solutions with Chainlink’s growing technology stack
Chainlink’s Fulcrum and CustodySync are some new examples of this
After years of following Chainlink’s development, it was incredible to experience that shift firsthand
Tokenization creates the foundation. What gets built on top of it will define the next generation of finance

He hadn’t mentioned it publicly before this interview.

24/7 data sounds boring.
Sergey Nazarov admits that.
But for anyone who depends on market data, the weekend gap is a real risk.
“A lot of things do happen over the weekend.”
Today, markets close on Friday and the infrastructure goes quiet until Monday. Positions sit exposed and nobody can act.
Sergey’s point is that the gap was never a law of nature. It’s a limit of the old infrastructure.
