Okay, so Iโve been getting tons of DMs on X and WhatsApp asking how to get into @searchfi_eth.
First thing Iโll say is this: if youโre coming to SearchFi only for the wins, Iโm sorry to disappoint you. Itโs going to be a hell of a ride, because this is more about being an actual community member than just chasing rewards.
Firstly, you need someone from inside the community to send you the Discord invite, and that person also has to vouch for you.
What does that vouch actually mean?
A. Youโre an active creator on X.
B. You have good conduct, can interact respectfully with people from different backgrounds, and you donโt post NSFW content.
C. Youโre a genuine community member who enjoys participating in AMAs, streams, referral events, Discord activities, and other community tasks.
Secondly, youโll have to fill out an application form. Some parts of the form are written in Korean, so youโll need to translate them before submitting.
Once youโve submitted your application and youโre waiting for review, Iโd also recommend making a tweet about your application and highlighting three things:
A. What you can bring to the SearchFi community.
B. What made you want to join SearchFi in the first place.
C. Who invited or referred you.
Those three things can help the mods understand who you are, what youโre about, and the kind of person your inviter is bringing into the community.

If you're looking into AI Agent projects claiming to be your CFO, the AI Trading Safety Handbook by @MEXC and @hackenclub is a must-read.
Here's what scares me:
> An AI Agent doesn't need withdrawal access to drain your portfolio.
> One bad trade, excessive leverage, or manipulated data could wipe you out.
> Telling AI "Don't trade more than $10K" isn't the same as actually enforcing that limit.
AI will only get smarter, but that doesn't automatically make our funds safer.
At the end of the day, it's our money. We should always have the final say.

Unfortunately, even the Abstract Foundation confirmed that recovering my funds is technically impossible due to differences between EraVM and EVM smart contract wallet address derivation.
Potentially recoverable:
Abstract โ zkSync Era
Both use EraVM, so deploying a smart contract wallet at the same address may be possible.
Practically unrecoverable:
Abstract โ BNB Chain (and other standard EVM chains)
Abstract uses EraVM, while BNB Chain uses standard EVM. Their CREATE2 address derivation methods differ, meaning the same deployment process cannot reproduce the same wallet address.
The only remaining options would be obtaining the private key or brute-forcing a 160-bit address using CREATE2.
Both are practically impossible.

If Only I Had Known About American Fortress Earlier...
American Fortress is building Send-to-Name technology, allowing users to send crypto using an @<name> instead of copying and pasting complicated wallet addresses.
They're also developing ZK-based technology to verify wallet ownership across different blockchains without exposing seed phrases.
Of course, this doesn't mean their technology could have recovered my funds or necessarily prevented my mistake.
But this experience made me rethink crypto UX.
We've spent years focusing on TPS, lower fees, and scalability.
Yet users still have to copy long wallet addresses, manually select networks, and risk losing everything because of one small mistake.
In traditional finance, a mistaken transfer may be reversible through a bank.
In crypto, one wrong click can mean losing your funds forever.
I believe mass adoption will require more than faster and cheaper blockchains.
We also need better UX and security infrastructure that protects users from irreversible mistakes.
Anyway, I paid $20,000 to learn this lesson.

Does a Higher APY Really Make a Vault More Attractive?

Why would institutional investors, banks, or government entities choose a DeFi Vault over U.S. Treasuries?
After all, DeFi comes with additional risks, including smart contract exploits, collateral defaults, and liquidity issues.
Vault A: 5% APY
Vault B: 5% APY + Confidentiality
institutional investors would have good reasons to choose Vault B, even if it offered a slightly lower APY.
For institutions, keeping their asset holdings and investment strategies private isn't just a nice-to-have feature.
On public blockchains, anyone can track a wallet's deposits, withdrawals, and asset movements.
Imagine an institution depositing $100M into a Vault.
What if its competitors or other market participants could track those fund movements?
They could potentially see when the institution withdraws funds, which strategies it's moving into, and which assets it's exposed to.
This kind of information exposure can create real financial risks for institutions.
"Institutional capital doesn't just sit in a vault."
Institutions don't just deposit assets and leave them there.
They trade, rotate capital between strategies, hedge positions, and settle transactions.
And all of these financial activities require confidentiality.
My point is that adding confidentiality to a Vault could be an even more attractive feature for institutions than a higher APY.
