Since replies are closed now I'd like to say that I agree for various reasons but it's definitely not as bad of a thing in comparison to the good that it's supposed to do for the game

mappers guild might be a net negative to the ranked section

In reality I just hate quest campers or people who do nothing but mpg oriented stuff, makes it feel like their work is completely unoriginal. Not to mention that I just dislike most FAs and ranking them is rewarded in many aspects. It feels like mappers don't map for fun nowadays

"intentional diffspike abuse, something which is already dying out as pp improves" // It will never die out and there will always be ways to exploit the system. This has not changed in years and people have been saying this for years as well before aim slop's existence. Lol

pretty much every aspect you could point out out of modern "slop" is a mildly exaggerated form of what wouldve 100% happened over time regardless of the advent of pp, with the maybe sole exception of intentional diffspike abuse, something which is already dying out as pp improves

This was talked about in various other threads but yes the average pp map would look totally different if metas were different, no such thing as natural progression into the most optimized 1-2 jumps ever I think. Unless I'm wrong then neither of us can prove it anyway
