Really enjoyed visiting the remarkable Laas Geel caves today with Ambassador @CharlesKingFCDO! With some rock art dating back more than 5,000 years, it’s a fascinating glimpse into #Somaliland’s rich history and cultural heritage. Well worth the short trip from #Hargeisa.
Amb @CharlesKingFCDO and President @Abdirahmanirro discussed the #UK’s longstanding engagement in #Somaliland. We’re proud to support efforts on security, democratisation and development. We welcomed the President’s continued commitment to peace and stability.
Displacement can’t be a permanent reality for families. @CharlesKingFCDO met Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, the Mayor of Hargeisa and Alight who’re supporting durable solutions for displaced communities. Encouraging efforts to help people move from dependency to opportunity.
