🌍 This #OneHealth Day, we’re reminded that protecting our health means looking beyond traditional boundaries.
Recent outbreaks highlight the infectious disease threats communities continue to face. With many emerging diseases originating in animals, and environmental changes, conflict and insecurity shaping risks, collaboration across human, animal and environmental health is more important than ever.
#OneHealth recognizes that the health of people, animals and the environment is interconnected. The @Pandemic_Fund supports this approach through country-led investments that strengthen surveillance, laboratory systems and workforce capacity, while bringing sectors and partners together.
#Nepal: Connecting human and veterinary surveillance and laboratory systems to identify threats such as anthrax and avian influenza earlier.
#India: Strengthening veterinary surveillance and laboratory capacity, and building cross-sector collaboration through the One Health Virtual Learning Centre.
#Paraguay: Connecting community-level detection with national early warning and surveillance systems.
Eight Southern African countries: Bringing together human, animal, environmental and climate data to strengthen early warning and preparedness.
These investments demonstrate how stronger, more connected systems can help countries identify risks earlier and respond together.
