how can you not believe in God when octopuses DREAM and otters have a favorite rock they carry around in a little SKIN POCKET and cows have BEST FRIENDS and bees are out there communicating the coordinates of flowers through INTERPRETIVE DANCE and they have REGIONAL DIALECTS?? cats are PURRING at frequencies associated with bone healing??? forests get absolutely incinerated and respond by growing FLOWERS??? dolphins literally invent NAMES for themselves and yell them across the ocean??? penguins are waddling around Antarctica looking for the PERFECT LITTLE ROCK to give their beloved??? CROWS REMEMBER YOUR FACE. THEY TELL OTHER CROWS ABOUT YOU. THEY TELL THEIR CHILDREN ABOUT YOU. YOU CAN HAVE GENERATIONAL BEEF WITH A BIRD. goats have ACCENTS. rats GIGGLE when you tickle them. elephants mourn their dead. whales make SONGS and then OTHER WHALES LEARN THE SONG and suddenly everybody across the ocean is singing the new hit single. monarch butterflies are born knowing how to fly thousands of miles to a place THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN. sea turtles hatch out of an egg, immediately sprint toward an OCEAN they have never seen, disappear into it for like THIRTY YEARS and then somehow come back to THE SAME BEACH??? birds can see COLORS THAT WE CANNOT SEE. there are colors happening RIGHT NOW that we don’t even get to know about. there are sea slugs that eat algae and STEAL ITS CHLOROPLASTS and then are just like great thanks I’ll be PHOTOSYNTHESIZING NOW. there are mushrooms communicating underground. there are seeds sitting in the dirt for DECADES like no actually I will wait. squirrels plant MILLIONS OF TREES because they simply cannot remember where they put their snacks. A CATERPILLAR GOES INTO A LITTLE BAG, DISSOLVES MOST OF ITS BODY INTO ORGANIC SOUP, REARRANGES ITSELF, GROWS WINGS AND LEAVES. and you’re telling me a tiny acorn knows how to become a 70-foot oak tree??? nobody tells it what to do??? it just has TREE INSTRUCTIONS INSIDE IT??? your body started as ONE CELL. ONE. and that cell divided itself into a brain that can think about its own existence and eyes that can look at stars and hands that can hold somebody else’s hands and a heart that runs on ELECTRICITY without you even asking it to??? the iron in your BLOOD was made inside a STAR. I’M SORRY????? we are walking around on a wet rock covered in bioluminescent oceans and singing whales and laughing rats and birds holding lifelong grudges and flowers exploding out of FIRE and somehow we’re supposed to act like this is a normal place to live?????????
how can you not believe in God when octopuses dream, otters have a favorite shell that they carry all their lives, cows have best friends, bees have different "dialects" of dance depending on the region, cats purr at a frequency that accelerates bone healing, the forest grows flowers first after a fire, dolphins give each other names and respond to them, penguins make proposals by giving each other the most beautiful pebble, crows will tell their children about you, goats have accents, rats giggle when you tickle them, sea slugs become powered by the sun just by green algae and squirrels plant millions of trees every year just by forgetting where they've buried their nuts!

The most expensive part of a hospital bill may never touch the hospital at all. A patient admitted for care has no way of knowing whether the price on a medical consumable reflects its actual cost or a markup fixed long before it ever reached the ward. That gap in information is, at its core, a public health issue. A survey of hospital consumables in Maharashtra found an IV infusion set with a trade price of ₹11.05 carrying a printed MRP of ₹325 ; a markup of 2,841%. A syringe procured at ₹6.75 carried an MRP of ₹57.20. A catheter procured at ₹29.41 carried an MRP of ₹310. These are not elective purchases. Patients cannot compare prices, seek alternatives, or question a number printed on a box while receiving care and the MRP itself is often fixed upstream by manufacturers and distributors, disconnected from the trade price by a wide, unexplained margin. The result is a system where the party bearing the cost has the least information to evaluate it. The regulatory gap is structural: scheduled medicines are capped under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013. Most medical devices and consumables are not leaving both the pricing and the information around it almost entirely unmonitored. A review of these findings and clear guidelines on the permissible gap between trade procurement price and declared MRP have been recommended to the Department of Pharmaceuticals and the NPPA ; a step toward closing not just a pricing gap, but the information gap patients are left to bear alone. #PublicHealth #GoodGovernance #Leadership #TukaramMundhe moneycontrol.com/news/busine…

Absolutely do not do this. This is mostly offered by "Cosmetologists" or commercialized Dermatology clinic chains. Cosmetology is not a recognized medical degree or a protected medical title under the National Medical Commission in India. So anyone claiming to be "cosmetologist" is not really a medical practitioner. They are similar to certified "coaches" or "wellness experts". The clinical evidence supporting IV glutathione is exceptionally poor. Marketing claims rely heavily on anecdotal reports and a single, widely criticized trial that suffered from a tiny sample size, poor study design, and unreliable evaluations. Because the body continuously produces melanin, any potential lightening effect is temporary. Once the extreme systemic doses are stopped, the skin's natural pigmentation returns. Because IV glutathione is not approved for cosmetic use, the solutions utilized in wellness clinics and med-spas are typically sourced from "compounding pharmacies". This bypasses standard pharmaceutical manufacturing regulations, introducing severe risks. A "compounded drug" is a custom medication created by a pharmacist or physician who combines, mixes, or alters ingredients on their own. In August 2026, the US FDA issued an urgent safety warning after dozens of patients experienced potentially fatal infection (sepsis)-like symptoms - including fever, chills, low blood pressure, and hospitalization, following glutathione IV treatments. Clinics were found to be compounding IV drips using dietary-supplement-grade powder, which contained dangerously high levels of bacterial endotoxins. Administering high doses has been linked to severe adverse effects, including anaphylaxis, acute kidney and liver dysfunction, and potentially fatal skin reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis (SJS and TEN) Ultimately, the administration of IV glutathione in dermatology and cosmetology clinics is a lucrative marketing trend that operates outside the bounds of evidence-based medicine. Like I said, absolutely, do not do this.

Somewhere between 75 and 80% of Britain's barn owls now have to nest in a box somebody built for them. One man has built 350 of them. The reason the number is that high is that almost everything they used to nest in is gone. Hollow trees came down. Old barns got converted into houses or replaced with sealed steel sheds. The rough field margins where voles live got farmed right to the edge, so even where a bird finds a site there's often nothing to feed a brood. Add road deaths and rodenticide moving up from poisoned mice, and the species spent most of a century sliding toward extinction. Robert Salter, a bricklayer from Camerton in East Yorkshire, has been working to save the barn owl for 35 years. He has no grants, no formal organization, no funding. He started at 21 after watching a news segment about a man in Lincolnshire putting up owl boxes. Every June he takes four weeks off work, unpaid, and does the rounds with his wife Sue. Up ladders into farm sheds and trees, checking boxes, repairing them, weighing and ringing owlets under a British Trust for Ornithology license. He built a brick owl tower in his own garden, and a pair in it raised five young this year. Last season he ringed 308 owlets. The year before it was 95. That jump was mostly due to voles. Barn owl breeding tracks field vole numbers, which boom and crash on their own schedule, and 2025 was a boom year in his patch. Across the rest of England it was a poor season, dry spring, thin grass, not enough cover for voles. That's what a box does. It doesn't create owls. It makes sure that when the food is there, there's somewhere to raise a brood, and the good year actually converts into more birds. "I don't see it as a hobby," he told the Yorkshire Post. "I see it as my duty. As long as I can keep doing it I will keep doing it."

Indian healthcares biggest open secret in parliament. "Cut & Commissions". @raghav_chadha speaks about it in Parliament. As big or worse for the health of ordinary people than the #neetissue As a senior surgeon working in the system for 3 decades I confirm what you say. But Raghav its far worse The commission system is not just labs/diagnostics to dr. Its also dr to dr & hospital to dr. And its not just corruption or parallel economy. It impacts healthcare costs, drives unnecessary tests / procedures & also quality of care. You may not get support from drs or their organisations for many of them have been coopted. But many yound drs will be grateful. All efforts by regulators to curb this have failed or been internally opposed by powerful drs & orgs who have vested interests. And thank you for mentioning the @IndJMedEthics ; yes we have been writing about this for years. Heres what me & a colleague surgeon wrote in 2017. We were attacked by our colleagues. blogs.bmj.com/bmj/2017/07/07… Few years ago Maharashtra govt set up a committee to introduce a bill to punish cut practice in healthcare. It died a mysterious death. Read about it. indianexpress.com/article/ci… Now as an MP of the ruling party can you do something? Can you push the regulators? @NMC_IND There are several drs in parliament across parties. Get them on board. In other words act.
In Parliament today, I spoke on the “cut money” arrangement between some doctors and diagnostic centres/ pathology labs. Diagnostic centres call it "marketing expense." Doctors call it "referral commission." All gets added to Patient's hospital bill. A silent transaction that isn't about your treatment. It's about who referred you. Watch this before your next medical test.

Every opposition MP who sold himself or herself and defected to the government should hang their heads in shame. These young people are facing brutality in the streets because the people they elected to represent them were greedy little cowards who took the cash & switched sides

In my practice, I have seen so many transwomen use these creams and others containing steroids - all for skin lightening. Other countries have already banned them. Hope they are banned here too.

We need such a policy in Maharashtra and especially in Pune pronto..Ugly flex hoardings everywhere and it is getting worse year by year
This is what alternative politics should look like. Tamil Nadu CM Vijay’s strict directive to prohibit posters, flex boards, and giant cutouts in public spaces. His party, TVK, has also issued a strict warning to party workers, stating that disciplinary action will be taken against anyone who violates the directive. A great precedent! 💯

#StoryAlert: When something carries India's name, we feel proud. But what if it turns out to be a disease? Well, that is an embarrassment. And the embarrassment is Trichophyton indotineae. A new fungal infection has spread from India to Germany, the United States, New Zealand, and beyond. Scientists named it Trichophyton indotineae. The “indo” in the name is not a compliment. The reason traces back to a small, cheap tube of cream, sold without a prescription at pharmacies across India. Inside: a powerful steroid, an antifungal, and an antibiotic. All in one tube. The steroid shuts down the skin’s immune response. The itch stops. The patient feels cured. The fungus stays, and starts to adapt. Over months of repeated use, it mutates. It learns to survive the very drug designed to kill it. A drug-resistant species is born. And it now carries India’s name wherever it travels. Read the full story here thesouthfirst.com/health/tri…

That’s how Nashikars bashed the city officials over the current Tapovan issue 💪🏻 Seems like it isn't happening if we keep raising the voice :)
Once 200–300 year old trees are gone, we won’t see anything like them again in our lifetime. It takes centuries to replace what we lose for a two-month event. This isn’t development it’s plain stupidity

Being one of the 2000...what can I say, except that it's heartbreaking. I was/am really proud to be a part of JHU and of the work we were doing in the Accelerate program here.
Breaking News: Johns Hopkins University, a leader in scientific research, said it would eliminate more than 2,000 workers because of the Trump administration’s steep cuts, primarily to international aid programs. nyti.ms/3XP8DRI

A single injection of a drug, called lenacapavir, protects 96-100 percent of recipients from HIV for up to six months. It's the best HIV preventive ever made. To close out Issue 05, @KLNahas explains how Gilead made it & why getting it to those who need it will not be simple.🔻

Will the @NHAI_Official wait till there is an accident on this stretch to take any action ? How can you design expressways like these ?
Replying to @NHAI_Official
@NHAI_Official sirs, how do you design or supervise construction like this? Isn't the weight of the water a severe danger dimension to this structure? #Nashik #Maharashtra #India #NHAI @timesofindia @TimesNow @IndianExpress @LoksattaLive @mataonline #bridge #civilconstruction
