There's a common belief that a low-carb diet leaves muscle empty of glycogen, but that isn't what the data show. When researchers compared keto-adapted ultra-endurance runners with high-carb runners, resting muscle glycogen was similar, and both groups used it and refilled it at similar rates around a 3-hour run. Those runners had been eating that way for months, and the body makes plenty of glucose on its own once it's adapted. Heavy, short training works well on any diet, but a person eating low carb doesn't have to give up volume forever.
Carnivore and the gym go together on one condition, and the condition is that you stop training like someone on carbs.
High-volume training runs on glycogen. 20 sets a body part, sets of 8 to 15 chased to the burn, 2 hours under the lights: every one of those sets is drawing down the sugar stored in the muscle, and a carb eater refills it 3 times a day with rice. A carnivore carries less of it and refills it slower, so a session built to empty the tank leaves you flat, sore for days, and convinced the diet has cost you your strength.
The diet didn't. The programme was written for a different fuel.
What works instead:
- 4 to 6 reps, heavy
- A handful of lifts a session
- 3 or 4 sessions a week
- Under an hour, and out
- Fasted, on last night's dinner
- Eat big afterwards
A heavy set of 5 is over in under 30 seconds and barely touches the glycogen. It runs on what's stored in the muscle for exactly that job, recovers between sets, and the stimulus for growth is the load, not the burn. Low reps build the muscle and skip the fatigue, which is the whole point of them whatever you eat, and on carnivore they're the only sensible way to train.
The volume lifter's exhaustion was never building anything. It was the bill for running a sugar engine flat out, and the shake was how they paid it.
Carnivore gives the muscle fat to run on and as much beef as it can use to build from. The training only has to be heavy and short, and the supplement industry has no product for heavy and short.
The pump is water. The muscle is the steak.

Cooking with the range hood off can send tiny particles deep into your LUNGS.
In 54 California homes, people ran it just 36% of the time they cooked.
And even when it's on, some hoods catch under 15%.
In Berkeley Lab tests, the best caught over 98%.
Back burners did better than front burners.
The EPA's advice is simple:
• Turn the hood on whenever you cook
• Cook on the back burners when you can
• Leave it running 10 to 20 minutes after
• If you replace it, pick a model that vents outside
• No hood: open a window and run an exhaust fan
If your hood vents outside, the switch and the back burner do a lot of the work.
To me, it's the simplest habit in the kitchen.
You already own the upgrade.

Protecting biodiversity and improving farmer livelihoods can go hand in hand.
At COP17, a shared priority comes into focus: resilient food systems that support healthy ecosystems and the people who steward them.

Restaurant food can hide more carbohydrates than you expect
This is relevant when you follow a low-carb lifestyle for diabetes.
The carbohydrate load is not always visible on the plate.
1️Gravies may contain flour, starch or sugar.
2️Sauces and dressings can be sweetened.
3️“Crispy” foods are frequently coated or breaded.
4️Large portions make small additions significant.
Ask questions. Simplify your order. Choose foods whose ingredients you can recognise.
