You know you’re old, when you clean the house to the music you used to drink too.
So many good points made in this article (many from people far more qualified than me!)
'Our system is failing': The 'coaching crisis' sinking Australian rugby - and the 'crucified' coach that shows it
**
“Primarily, we’ve got the structure not wrong, but very wrong in Australia.”

I think Rugby (in Australia) can learn from this post….
On my recent journey's around Europe, a CEO of a national sporting organization asked me "how can we grow our participation numbers?"
I replied, "Invest in your #coaches".
"Why?", she said.
"Because ultimately, your sport IS your #coaches. Coaches and #coaching are the connection - the relationship builders - the deliverers of the experience of your sport. No matter what your strategic plan says or what your marketing plan might be, in the end, your sport is delivered day to day by your coaches. Invest in them - and your sport's success is assured".

My F.A.I.R. #coaching Model.
I developed this a couple of years ago but the concepts and principles have never been more important.
F.A.I.R. Coaching:
FLEXIBLE
ADAPTABLE
INDIVIDUAL
RESPONSIVE
I'll be doing a F.A.I.R. #Coaching Series online early 2024. More details soon.
I also run live and online F.A.I.R. Coach development sessions for Clubs, Sporting Organizations and Coaching groups.

Good appointment. Strategic thinker, steady personality, poise and leadership - all vital assets for Australian Rugby right now.
Rugby Australia’s board has elected former Wallaby Daniel Herbert as the new Chair of the governing body.
Hamish McLennan has resigned from the Rugby Australia board.

Does this #Referendum2023 result mean that Peter Dutton and Libs are going to be the answer to “Closing the Gap”.
🤔
If Rugby Australia was a “start up” company - what would be the structures to put in place ?
Complete Start Up… blank canvas….
After watching #RSAvsIRE yesterday, I thought it was Irelands Breakdown work - both sides of the ball, was the difference, so accurate and aggressive.
Compare that with Wallabies today…. Ask anyone in Aust Rugby who the best BD coach is; Lord Laurie Fisher, and he isn’t there🤔
Nick McCardle trying to sell a signed Wallabies jersey as valuable memorabilia after this mornings result - now that is a tough job!!
#IREvRSA
This game was easily worthy of a Final.
Sadly the game was decided by two penalties from scrums, Surely there should be players deciding outcomes rather than Referees.
Maybe “differential” penalties are needed??
Great game nonetheless, Ireland surely now RWC favorites

The art of coaching by Steve Kerr👇
🗣️”The urge is, you’re the coach and you want to control it. But, coaching isn’t controlling it, it’s guiding it… It’s not going to happen by you saying ‘you have to do this or you have to do that.’ I try and communicate a vision and gently nudge guys along.”
One of the best Test matches ever. One thing I was amazed at; all of the attention given to Ollie Robinson for carrying on like a pillock, and not much mention of the incredibly GOOD SPORT gesture from Root. Root should get much more adulation for this act mykhel.com/cricket/joe-root-…

Peak alpha stuff from Punter here that @gradecricketer would be proud of:
✅ speaks only in sidemouth while looking disinterested
✅ Shuts down some waffle in one sentence
✅ Rounds down the oppositions score
RTP still terrorising England.

Just a suggestion @RugbyAU & @StanSportRugby - how about you offer a Stan Sport Rugby Trial for EVERY junior registration between March & April … just getting eyeballs on the game or a SR ticket discount for regionals
How does this sit in your plan @benny_alexander ??
