Historic ruling today. The CJEU has struck down Hungary’s anti-LGBTQ+ law, and invoked Article 2 of the EU Treaty, our founding values, as an enforceable legal standard. This is what we fought for. #CJEU #Article2TEU #EUValues #HumanRights #LGBTIQ

At #GPM26 I urged progressives to move beyond a defensive posture and go on the offensive, making the case for equality and the safeguarding of human rights with clarity and confidence timesofmalta.com/article/go-… @GPMobilisation #GPM26

We stand with @zgurmai_EN, @PES_Women President and Hungarian MP, and are deeply concerned by the continued prosecution of Ms. Gurmai for allegedly “violently obstructing the authorities” during a protest against Viktor Orbán’s government. This accusation is baseless and politically motivated, and it constitutes a clear attempt to criminalise the democratic opposition - a tactic straight out of an authoritarian playbook. We will continue supporting Zita Gurmai and others who are standing up for democracy in Hungary.

Digital violence is a human rights, governance and economic crisis. Together, let's say NO to any form of violence against women and girls. As we kick of #16Days of Activism, let's build a safer online and offline world for every woman and girl. #NoExcuse

On International Day for the Elimination of Gender-Based Violence, I reaffirm a message I shared often during my EC mandate: Equality is not optional — it is a right. We must continue to invest, educate, legislate, and listen. A safer future is possible. #EndGenderBasedViolence

Ten years ago we established the UN International Day of Women and Girls in Science. We must continue to do more to close the gender gap in science by: ✅promoting role models ✅addressing stereotypes ✅fostering inclusion ✅increasing funding and targeted programmes
The world needs science, and science needs women. 👩‍🔬🧪 Yet, they remain under-represented and struggle to get recognition for their achievements. More from @UNESCO on Tuesday’s International Day of Women & Girls in Science: on.unesco.org/WomenInScience

The EU stands firm on the rule of law and human rights. Boualem Sansal’s unclear arrest raises serious concerns about freedom of expression in Algeria. We urge transparency, justice, and respect for shared values in our partnership.

At @Europarl, I stressed the need for stronger action to protect Europe’s critical infrastructure. Submarine cable disruptions and hybrid threats show us the risks affecting all of us. We must stay vigilant, resilient, and united. Security is non-negotiable.

With @Europarl_EN, we discussed how criminal gangs exploit children by recruiting them for violent crimes or drug trafficking. Children end up being both victims & perpetrators. Prevention, protection, and collaboration between key entities are key for children’s safety.

At the @Europarl_EN, I highlighted the EU’s goal of creating a ‘Tobacco-Free Generation’ by 2040. We are working to better protect people in the EU from second-hand smoke and aerosols – especially children and young people.

At the @Europarl_EN, I reiterated the EU’s commitment to human rights in Cambodia. The partial withdrawal of EBA trade preferences reflects this stance. We call on Cambodia to address shrinking civic space and labour rights violations.
