Guests have traveled from more than 40 countries to hunt hogs over Bryan, Texas.
International Business Times published a piece on how experiential travel is changing the way people choose destinations, and HeliBacon was part of the story. More travelers are planning trips around what they want to do, and a helicopter hunt over Texas ranchland gives them a reason to put this corner of the state on the map.
Those trips reach well past the hangar. Visitors stay in local hotels, eat at local restaurants, and spend time in the Brazos Valley before and after they fly.

Forget sitting in a tree stand.
As you spot-and-stalk hunt across rugged terrain in pitch darkness, you'll certainly feel like a Navy SEAL. Don't worry. We won't make you do pushups.
We meet around sundown for gear check and safety, then hunt for four unforgettable hours. Our thermal gear scans 750 yards in seconds. Once we spot a group of hogs, we move in fast and stalk within 20 yards completely unseen before opening fire.
We run small groups of 3 to 4 shooters with current-gen night vision, infrared, and thermal tech.

🎉 Celebrating 14 Years 🎉
It all started with a simple question from Chris Britt and Chase Roberts: would people pay to hunt feral hogs from a helicopter?
Texas had just opened the door to commercial aerial hog control, so they decided to find out. What began as an unconventional local idea in Bryan has grown into an operation built around adventure, shared stories, and real work for Texas landowners.
"People remember experiences because they give us something to talk about long after the day is over." That's how Chris puts it, and it's still the idea behind every hunt we run.

Some guests fly once and check the box. Others start planning who they're bringing next.
Thank you for flying with us. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Run the numbers on Texas hogs and the math gets ugly fast. 🐗 💥
A female hog can breed again within months of having a litter. Texas has more than 4 million feral hogs, and researchers say 75 percent of that population needs to be hunted every single year just to keep the number from growing.
Helibacon works to fill that gap. Backed by Texas law under HB 716, we work the population from the air (and the ground) and help ranchers and landowners keep it in check.
Do your part to even the odds.

Happy Labor Day from HeliBacon. Whether you've got the day off or you're working today, we hope you're with good people.
Speaking of good people, we've flown father-son trips, birthday groups, bachelor parties, and corporate outings, and every one of them started with someone asking "who's in."
Who would you bring on a hunt? Tag them below. 👇️
Belt-fed machine guns. Battle rifles. Carbines. Submachine guns. Machine pistols. Shotguns. This is the collection guests get their hands on, not a display case behind glass.🙌
Rare, historic, and built to run full-auto without slowing down. Most people will never touch hardware like this in their life. Here, it's just a part of the day.

Got a hunt booked? You'll want to hear this! 💥 🐗
You only get one first flight, and most people don't realize that until they're back on the ground wishing they'd caught it on camera.
Bring your own GoPro if you want. Plenty of guests do, though it won't get you the gunner's point of view and the action inside the cabin at the same time.
And it DEFINITELY won't catch your own reaction the second the crew chief calls "clear to fire."
The video package covers what your camera can't. Trust us, when you're telling this story for the tenth time, you'll want the footage to back it up. 🎞️ 📽️
Add it before you fly: helibacon.com/texas-helicopt…
Our last post told you how seriously we take safety before you ever get in the aircraft. That same standard applies to whether we fly at all. ⛈️ ⚡️ 🌬️
If conditions aren't right, we reschedule instead of pushing through something we wouldn't feel good about. You don't lose your spot and you don't pay a penalty, you just land on a new date that works for you.
No shortcuts on the ground. None in the air, either.

Full-auto machine guns and an open door fifteen feet off the ground sound like a lot to trust, so here's the honest answer on how we keep it safe. 🛡️
Every event we host starts with a safety discussion of some kind. Every helicopter hunt goes further with a mandatory safety course before anyone flies. You don't need years of firearms experience to do this right. What you need is humility, a willingness to listen, and an attitude that takes safety seriously, and we'll handle the rest.
Fourteen years in the air, and the track record is still clean.
Come see one of our core values in action: helibacon.com/helicopter-mac…
This is the aircraft that makes it all possible, and it doesn't play small. Twin engines, six gunners split three to a side, a crew chief working the cabin, and room for up to ten people in the air once you count the pilots.
It's the largest helicopter in the hog hunting industry. Fifteen feet off the deck, every gun cleared to fire, this aircraft is built to handle it.

Fall weddings mean summer bachelor and bachelorette parties. Which means one question keeps getting asked in the group text: what's the plan for the big weekend?
Bring the guest of honor and the whole crew out to Helibacon. Spend the morning in the air over Texas ranchland, or keep it on the ground with a belt-fed range day they'll be talking about at the reception.
There's always the winery tour. There's also this.

Triple-digit Texas days push hogs nocturnal. They bed down through the heat and come out to feed once the sun drops, which means some of the most exciting summer hunting happens after dark. 🌙
Through the latest generation of infrared and thermal gear, the night transforms and the hogs can't hide. They never see it coming. It's quieter than the helicopter, more methodical, and a completely different kind of hunt.

A lot of people assume you need a military background or years behind a trigger to do this. You don't.
Every hunt starts with a full safety course at Coulter Field before anyone touches the helicopter. We walk you through firearm handling, helicopter operations, communication commands, all of it. By the time you board, you know exactly what to do and when to do it.
Plenty of our guests fire their first full-auto round with us. You bring the willingness to learn, and we handle the rest.
Fully licensed, fully insured, and an injury-free record we intend to keep.

Happy 4th of July from the HeliBacon crew!
Fire up the grill, enjoy the day, and spend it with your people. We'll see you out here soon. 💥 🍔 🌭 🧨
Some people book one experience. Some people want all three in a single day.
That's what The Works is.
It starts with an hour-long safety course at Coulter Field Airport, then you board the Bell 212 at daybreak when temperatures are cool and hog activity is at its peak.
After the hunt, you move to the Machine Gun Range for an afternoon on belt-fed, full-auto hardware.
When the sun goes down, the night vision crew takes over. Thermals, infrared gear, boots on the ground, and hogs that thought the dark was on their side.
Are you ready to go all in? 👇️
