No Rarity - Unofficial 1st Edition Japanese Released in October 20 1996 with people estimating ~53 days print run. (data courtesy of the forum users at Elitefourum) The first pokemon official set print run was released with various errors before being corrected soon after thus making it an unofficial 1st edition. The name No Rarity is due to the signature Rarity symbol missing in the bottom right. Booster pack wise (won’t discuss packs) they can only find them in the 291 yen packs vs the 300 yen packs released April 1, 1997. Even then the chances of finding a no rarity in a 291 yen pack is < 1% now a days. Initially pokemon cards sold quite slowly which is why today we ended up with such a small supply of No Rarity (posted my data in the holo population). Most of the Holos have had < 500 graded in totality! I totally forgot to write a proper post on the genre despite discussing it for months but felt it’s about right as Logan clearly has shown interest in the origins of Pokemon and he has mentioned No Rarity before in the clip i am posting. There is also only 1 Raichu PSA 10 in existance so making this the second hardest set to master set in a PSA 10 after the Corocoro Set which has 0 PSA 10 Ivy Pikachus.

No Rarity - Pokemon TCG Origin Despite Japanese Vintage being down for the last 6 months with many down as much as 10-30%. No Rarity has only gone from strength to strength. Want to know why people are scrambling to obtain them? Read this post i wrote a few months ago. Markets are never wrong, there is a reason collectors pay more for No Rarity Charizard vs English 1st Edition. No Rarity is the Genesis of Pokemon TCG

@Kleza_108 auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auct…

Fanatics show pretty boring… Changed channels to Goldin No Rarity Mewtwo - PSA 10 🍿 👀 🍿
Fanatics Auctions = Market Indicator If you’re not watching the fanatic auctions on Sunday evening you’re missing out on a lot of market data. Fanatic auctions has become a weekly event for all Pokemon and collectible lovers. This week Fanatics made bidding stricter so the prices once again can be more dependable. Despite the skepticism a lot of cards are once again hitting record levels.

No Rarity Has become an Auction Market Sales of No Rarity have slowed this week but I have also noticed the BIN (Buy it Now) listings have also disappeared or repriced much high. Currently the lowest BIN for a PSA 8 Holo is 6.5k Nidoking. My gut is that most sales for the near-term future will be auctions until prices are climb high enough to encourage more listings or people begin listing below current BIN. We have about 5 Auctions coming up this week which will be quite telling as we have some very big hitters. - PSA 10 Mewtwo (Pop 9) - PSA 8 Charizard (last sold 108k confirmed paid) - PSA 8 Alakazam - PSA 8 Machamp - PSA 8 Chansey I’ll be particularly interested where the Mewtwo lands. Any PSA 10s Holo of any kind only sell about every 3-6 months.

I bet no one saw this coming... A 1996 Japanese No Rarity Computer Search PSA 10 was listed for $350,000 on @PSAcard's eBay store and sold for $250,000 via an accepted offer. That's a wild price for a Trainer card. Looks like everything is computer. Thoughts on this?

Japanese Pokemon finally Looking Ready? As a primarily Japanese exclusive collector, I can say the vast majority of cards cards in the last 6 months have actually gone lower. Some sets did better such as No Rarity, Vending Series, Grail Rares etc… however those are the outliers. My gut says pokemon hasn’t peaked, and more likely we will see consolidation and broadening of breadth. Everyone you speak to will say all Vintage is at all time highs… the data begs to differ. It was a primarly English rally only. Some examples i found consolidating and below 2026 highs: Pokepark’s Pikachu PSA 9 - ⬇️ 50% JP Snap Pikachu PSA 9 - ⬇️ 20% Gameboy Mewtwo PSA 10 - Flat Mt Fuji Pikachu PSA 9 - ⬇️ 30% Noticed other signs like Snkrdunk buybacks being very strong recently. Been a while but plan to go out to some trade shows next 1-2 months to see if I can pick up any bargains. What do you guys think?

Been waiting forever to finally get this announced and made public! When I first acquired this Topps Chrome Pokemon Sparkle Kabuto card about 6 months ago, the original intention was to grade it and keep it locked in my collection. But one night I was starring at my cards, and had a thought pop into my head. I reached out to the GOAT @KabutoKing_ and proposed the idea of him signing it and auctioning it off for charity. He was super gracious with his time and loved the idea. I am blessed beyond measure, and there are a lot of folks out there who are really hurting financially. Collecting my favorite childhood Pokemon cards became a really fun avenue and hobby with my 4 year old son. And I know a lot of children out there are not as fortunate. I see the struggle daily. Well 6 months forward, it is finally the time to be able to auction this off and donate all proceeds to local charities to me! Look forward to November 6th in @GoldinCo next elite TCG auction! ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to charities benefitting underprivileged youth!
Topps Chrome Sparkle Kabuto ✨ The most stunning Kabuto that exists. Only 13 copies in ANY condition graded by PSA. @island_trader1 generously sent this card for me to sign and send to @GoldinCo. 100% of proceeds will go toward supporting underprivileged youth in Key West, Florida. Exact charity distribution will be outlined soon. Will be available to bid on at @GoldinCo in the near future 👑

Corocoro - Uno Reverso Trap Despite Corocoro Ivy Pikachu and Jigglypuff being down 30-90% from it’s peak. - I did warn you guys 🤦‍♂️ Corocoro as a set still is something that intrigues me and I continue to accumulate when I see a bargain at the auctions. A few latest sales which add to my convinction. A lot of discussion recently warning people about the Low Pop Trap - what they don’t account for is a change in demand. I feel Uno Reverso time is coming soon.

No Rarity Charizard - Grading Premiums You can tell the No Rarity market is slowly maturing. Back in April prices for PSA 1-3 and 5-6 were practically the same price, if you were patient you could own PSA3 for practically the same price as a PSA 1. This highlights how little attention No Rarity had just a few months ago. Now the distinction between grades is becoming ever more clear similar to cards like gold stars. Latest Comps ( Previous ) *Estimates for those missing * PSA 1-8 only due to lack of data Today. April. PSA 1 - 6 (3.5) PSA 2 - 9.5 (4) PSA 3 - 11.4 (4) PSA 4 - 15. (6) PSA 5 - 17.5 (9) PSA 6 - 25* (10.5) PSA 7 - 46 (22) PSA 8 - 108 (40)* I suspect the entire No Rarities set will act more and more like gold stars with time and low tier grades difference will be established for the non Charizard holos. You are already beginning to slowly see this happening in Blastoise/Venusaur and Mewtwo too.
PSA Boxing Day Sales Sometimes you see a mass listing of New PSA sequentials… not necessarily the same card or same PSA, often these are same sets but that’s harder to identify. Often these are prices quite attractive, 5-10% below market. The seller bought cheap probably waited 6 months for PSA Express and guess what the r up 200-300%. They don’t care about the 5%. They wanna liquidate NOW and move on. There are many ways to skin a cat. But don’t fade the new certs especially when u see 3 of the same. You think ohh it’s so may listings its dipping i’ll wait. Maybe time to use your brain a bit and think in the shoes of the seller. 4 No rarity Charizard popped up recently… all got snapped up just FYI. Don’t remember them all but i noted down these two. PSA 1 - 3k PSA 3 - 3.6k (absolute bargain!!) I may or may not have grabbed one of those 4 listings 😏

Time is valuable Don’t listen to anyone who says… “Just buy 151/AH/DR it’ll moon in 10 years time”. Instantly this is automatically a 🚩 . Why would you knowingly lock up your liquidity that could have been other sets that have 2-3-4-5x which then you could have sold and bought 3-5 times the number of 151 one year later Time has value and locking up your hard earned liquidity for 10 years of which 8-9 years it does nothing is a crime… I looked back at a bunch of cards i sold in March/April and noticed a lot of them are either DOWN or barely up since then!!! Base Set Char/Blast/Venu PSA 10 - Sold for 30k - Current avg 38k Exeggutor Trainer Bilingual PSA 10 - Sold for 3k - Current avg 3.7k Expedition Dragonite Holo PSA 10 - Sold for 7k - Current avg 6.5k On average these 3 are only up just 14% between March - October compared to the English and Japanese Promos is terrible. Still better than modern tho 🤣. But that being said, I feel its about time we monitor Japanese again as it has potential for a catch up play to English… just sometime i’ll be monitoring as I do think distribution will eventually happen in the next few months for English Set that have absolutely mooned which could free up liquidity that moves into specific Japanese sets. Just a hunch… I’ll revisit this post in a few months.
Sold all my Regret! Finished selling everything two weeks ago that I was targeting to part with except for a few singles which i’m not too fussed about. Guessing this was about 1/3 of my collection. I sold everything that I feel can be replace easily. Despite my selling I couldn’t resist taken in a few pieces I felt don’t come up often. It’s hard for me to buy at these levels unless i sold something. Selling my regretful buys to rotate into what i believe are gems makes it 100x easier. But honestly it feels good to have sold some stuff… most were intentionally for trading anyway, a lot were regretful buys and thanks for the bull market to make them not so regretful 😁. But i am still definitely selling more than I am buying. Liquidity is a fickle, with Logan pushing One piece manga I wouldn’t be surprised to see a pull back of sorts coming for pokemon. Each segment will be impacted on a different magnitude. If it happens I’ll be watching for what holds up best. They will be the ones you try grab. There is also a video coming out soon about the origin cards of pokemon which also includes Logan so he’s sortta pushing everything. Anyway just being cautious. Nothing wrong with taking some cash off the table.

Scarcity where it matters - The Dittos With vintage markets at ATH its again always good to think where to allocate your funds to protect yourself for whatever is to come. People have been calling top for 12 months now… It ended up being a rotating into Vintage. But in the end we never know when a correction is coming… be prepared regardless. My focus remains on scarce sets or grades with narratives I believe in any correction these have the highest protection rate… 1. You could see rotation into scarce while markets tank 2. Less supply means less selling pressure 3. Usually scarce sets actually pump less meaning they dump less (lower volatility) 4. Long term you are likely to be better off, less of a hype cycle pump and dump True Scarcity - No Rarity, Mt Fuji Pikachu etc…. Graded Scarcity - Low pop PSA 8/9/10s One true scarcity I have hinted to months ago and I don’t see gets enough exposure are Delta Species Dittos by Yuka Morri. A huge fan of Yuka Morri as its a very distinctive art style and I consider my Corocoro Jumbo Pokemon Plaza as a forever keep. Disclosing: I don’t own any Delta Species they are english which I don’t collect either but If i was to start all over again I would focus on true scarcity with narratives like these.
Corocoro Jumbos - Yuka Morii The Clay Master Yuka Morii is a unique illustrator that used clay in effectively all of her card designs. I believe she is most famous for her Delta Species Ditto [Pokemon] where all the characters gave the iconic ditto eyes and mouth. Her first card ever however was a Corocoro Jumbo Promo - Pokemon Plaza. You can see clearly hints of this being her first as the style develops over time. Pokemon Plaza is slight rougher and actually is quite unique in comparison to her future works. The first mainset TCG was Neo, in which you can see she has already started to develop her signature clay sculpting style. Maybe due to the jumbo size of Pokemon Plaza, it is nice to see it have a stadium card feel as she has a lot more room to play with rather than all future works that focus primarily on one pokemon or at max two. Also a big fan of all the pokemon inside such as oddish, jigglypuff which i feel don’t get as much spotlight as they should. Jigglypuff is imo definitely such a gem in the franchise.
