Electric cars are now up to nine times cheaper than petrol or diesel ones to drive in Britain, a Carbon Brief analysis calculates. If charged with off-peak power they cost 2.3p a mile, compared to 20.1p for petrol and 21p for diesel.

Well this is quite something. The BC Cons got pretty much the same vote they had in 2024 (900K). It’s the NDP vote that fell this election as supporters weren’t motivated enough to get out to vote.

🇺🇸‼️ The top management of a US $25 billion gas project in Alaska has resigned amid suspicions that the project is secretly controlled by Russia.
The former CEO of Polar Train LNG said that the export terminal is actually financed and controlled by Russia’s Novatek without Washington’s permission.
At first, he believed that the money was provided by investor, who is associated with the Trump family, but it turned out that the financing came from Novatek.
Russia’s Novatek has been under US sanctions since 2014, and its Arctic LNG 2 project was added to the list in 2023.
According to the FT, a swap is being discussed in negotiations with Moscow: Novatek helps with Alaska, and the US lifts sanctions on Arctic LNG 2.
You see the “BC Conservatives” win today but it’s just the same right wing crew changing the party name who win throughout the decades as “Social Credit” and “BC Liberals.” It’s the same body in a different suit.

New BC premier Doerkson is so awkward that he’s difficult to watch; appears drunk. Let’s see if he stays on as premier or if they replace him.
If the BC NDP really wanted to make a comeback, they’d try bringing in Poco mayor @BradWestPoCo as leader.
How long until the BC Cons pull this line out so that they have an excuse to cut and to sell off assets:
“The numbers were even worse than we thought. We’re going to have to tighten our belts and make difficult choices.”
They’ll probably end up calling this error of calling an early election but losing “pulling an Eby.”
