Starting a thread from the beginning, of all of my helmet history graphics 1960-2007 (so far). Starting with 1960 NFL and AFL:
Helmet of the Day: The Inaguaral Dallas Cowboys helmet, 1960-1963. brought back as a throwback, 2004-12 and 2022-Current.
At some point in the distant future the NHL will have more outdoor games than the NFL.

This is possibly the last time we will see this matchup outdoors with both moving to indoor stadiums in 2027 and 2029. They could play in Cleveland next year if they both finish the same in their respective divisions or they somehow meet in the playoffs (π).
Looking forward to Niners versus Falcons and Chiefs versus Seahawks which are both amazing uniform matchups. Really wish the Dolphins were wearing throwbacks today.
The 1962 Steelers "steel" helmet. Worn for several games at the tail end of the 1962 season. The final year of the yellow helmet. After the season for the Playoff Bowl they would wear their black helmet for the first time adding the current and classic Steelers logo in 1963.
After seeing them on the field, I am sticking with my πon the white over black pants for the Steelers. The all black is okay, but this just looks unnatural and a little off to me. Maybe it's because it's never been done before.
