I had a heart attack at 41.
I didn't smoke, I wasn't obese, and I thought I was too young to worry.
Here are 7 things I wish I'd been told sooner:
1. I underestimated sleep.
What do I understand now?
My heart attack took minutes. The signals took years, and I had an excuse for every one.
Measure at home. Know your family. Take the quiet symptoms seriously.
"Too young" is not a number any doctor can check.
I usually don't share "creatine" threads, most of them are trash
but this one is honestly GOLD:
Even without lifting, some strength tests improved.
Creatine alone raised bench and leg press 1RM, and the bench gain beat placebo.
With training, creatine gave the biggest 1RM gains.
Start lifting in midlife, though, and early soreness is often what makes people stop.
So the study does not clearly show that creatine can replace training.
But it does suggest 10g a day may help middle-aged adults hold onto lean tissue and strength, even without exercise.
And when they added exercise on top, the effect looked much stronger.
