Exciting changes and music news incoming. ☀️✨ Plan is to use 5 more weekends to finish our Oz Acoustic album — By September/October, I hope to have a schedule for 𝘢 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘖𝘻 𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘩. I think the world could use that! 🧚🏻🫧 Starting with the lockdown era, I’ve been writing with specific intent of mirroring the times we live in 🤪𝘞𝘏𝘈𝘛 𝘍𝘜𝘕 so the story-outside-the-story of the Oz Acoustic album is that, after 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘢 𝘘𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘢 and 𝘉𝘶𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘭𝘺 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘦, and 𝘑𝘉𝘕𝘎𝘚𝘈𝘞, 𝘐𝘞𝘍𝘛𝘎𝘖𝘐𝘈𝘐𝘞𝘍𝘛𝘎𝘜𝘎𝘙, and singing our 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮, it makes sense I’d retreat into “𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥, 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘧 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘺𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐'𝘮 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘺 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘵𝘦 𝘐 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘪𝘵.” 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘨𝘨𝘺 𝘔𝘢𝘯 🌈 I’m praying for my community victims of the Berlin attack this week. It is clear who is usually loud and silent now, and why. Songwriters are frightened to dip their toes in the water we’re actually swimming in. But I’ve done my time 🥵 — and will surely return to “relevant” songwriting, — but I hope everyone enjoys this next movement of pure fantasy I’ve got cooked for ya. 🤍🧚🏻✨

𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜. 𝘈 𝘵𝘦𝘢 𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘹𝘦𝘥 𝘨𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯. The first time someone said they were a songwriter and showed me A.I. songs I was taken aback. Now though, I’m finding myself in conversations with people who have written lyrics for a long time and can now bring their words to life with A.I. It’s cool to have more people to talk about Song Creation with. Buddy brought a phrase I said to life with an A.I. country song: *Open Butthole, Closed Heart* 🥹 Banger. Diplo says there’s no way to stop it and if packaged right, people are gunna eat it up. The Machine is going to love not having to deal with pesky humans. [Ha! And “the machine” is humans here 🤪] Movie studios & videogames could save $. I don’t have as dark a take as Billy Corgan’s “it’s a deal with the devil”, but I have seen Terminator many times. Want to mark this moment in time where everything before now has been organic: no autotune, no A.I. I’m not against using A.I. in the future to, let’s say: “add a crazy synth swell to this song”. Would seem a bit wrong to “add a choir of voices behind the main vocal” though. But it could sound cool! Could use A.I. to demo different ideas in big projects like musicals. I’ve asked A.I. about chord progressions a couple times. I’ll let you know if/when I use it. I don’t have music A.I. software at the moment. I would always like to know before listening to a song you send me, if it is a machine. That’s going to be a “new normal” question to ask. I will *stampede* towards A.I. being able to do the *mixing* once I insert all the organic instruments. That will save me lots of time. When I was a kid we had to blow on our physical video game carts to make them work so this is a wild ride. 🤖

No Autotune No A.I. for years but it’s darker than that isn’t it. 😛
