Just learned today, that a few weeks ago, another mentor of mine has moved on to the afterlife.
Jack Atkinson was awesome. He was smart. He was the man behind Peter Gregg's and Hurley Haywood's success at Brumos.
RIP Jack. Thanks for all of the lessons.
I know this is a satire account, but as the Facilities and part time IT guy, this is 100% on point!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Our office has been fighting over the temperature for three months.
Sales wants 68°F.
HR wants 73°F.
The CFO wants 70°F.
One VP keeps setting it to 65°F because he wears a three-piece suit in July.
Facilities asked IT to investigate because the thermostats are connected to WiFi.
I checked the building management system.
Turns out the thermostats on the walls don't actually control anything.
They're overridden by a central controller that keeps the entire floor at 72°F.
They've been like that for four years.
Every department has been adjusting a number on a screen and immediately feeling better.
I told Facilities.
They said:
"Please don't tell anyone."
Last week the CFO thanked me for finally fixing the temperature in his office.
I haven't touched it.
I just changed the display so it shows 70°F when he walks in.
My most successful IT project this year is lying to a man about the weather inside a building.
This rocks. This hits home.
This rocks just as much as having a newborn...in some ways, maybe even more so.
Awesome and congrats to the whole of the Logano family!!!!
As they should return to TMS...but a shared weekend with NASCAR? All you will hear about is "incompatible rubber"

Setting up the Riley and Scott WSC's: The whole setup (Ride Height, Caster, Camber, Toe, Corner & Cross weights) is done without the shocks/springs in the car
Solid rods were in the place of the shocks
Shocks/springs then went in 1 by 1, numbers got adjusted back each time
How its started, and how it ended. Pic 1 was the new nose design Porsche gave us mid 1995. We tested for 3 days at some God foresaken track in the middle of nowhere. It was HOT, oil temps rose
By the time we were done with the air saws and race tape, the Evo nose was the result
Private Equity doing what Private Equity does. Hypercoil, Eibach and Rockwell springs were the gold standard goto springs in any race series.
Porsche released the new Mission S.
Nice car (pic 1) but immediately see room for inprovements design wise (pic 2/3)
Was sitting at the dinner table last night when 3.0 brings out a new hot wheels. I get a weird look on my face...
Mrs: Whats wrong?
Me: Thats not a Porsche
3.0: So?
Me: It's got my banana wing though?
Mrs: Oh yeah it does.
3.0: You can't make a wing from a banana!!
Kid 3.0: Daddy, did you ever crash in a race car?
Me: Yep
3.0: Were you scared when it happened?
Me: Nope, I was to busy at the time to be scared.
3.0: How did you crash?
Me: (Grabs Matchbox cars to demonstrate)
3.0: 😂🤣😂🤣😂THAT IS HOW YOU CRASHED??!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
