Growing up poor, having parents who struggled with addiction, and feeling very angry, very alone... I always wanted to tell my story. Now, hopefully, with your help, I get to tell a part of it. Through a character I deeply love. This is... 𝙅𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣 youtu.be/ngnYQLdY72I

Man, tbh i had some problems with the overall plot here too, but what struck me the most was John and Hal's personal journey. Somehow two very different characters were able to represent so much for me and OF me. And somehow you, Alex, encapsulated that so perfectly. I loved this
‼️NEW VIDEO‼️ It seems that the popular opinion (at least on here) is to hate everything about Lanterns. Well, there’s a reason I got shoved into lockers back in the day. Yeah, I Loved Lanterns youtu.be/o3V2AKJObuo?si=LRQQ…

Watched this last night on Patreon, and as always from HiTop it was an excellent and artistic dissection into a piece of narrative media. One of the reasons I’ll always respect Alex’s view on stories even when I don’t agree with them is because he comes at them from the perspective of a storyteller and filmmaker himself. You can tell he’s grown a lot from his earlier days on YouTube where he acted way more like people today act on this app when all we do is consume. You naturally have a different outlook on things once you yourself have underwent the creative process. You’re able to appreciate things more and are willing to listen to what the artist is trying to say, even if you’re ultimately in disagreement with it in the end. These are the kinds of nuances I want to engage in more rather than absolutes.

I'm a forever in denial merger-bro, but I think the best evidence for the theory so far is the fact that Clayface actively avoids any mention of Batman lore. The gangster isn't Thorne, Maroni, Falcone, Zucco. The cop doesn't talk about Gordon, etc.
You would think dc doesn’t have the rights to Batman or smth with the way they’re acting

Okay so I know I'm late, but give me the most outlandish Lanterns video title you would click on. I'll probably steal one of them.

My ill informed take on the clayface review that seems to be causing a stir... dude paid for a ticket, nobody gave him an embargo, don't think he broke any rules. I think people are mad because he didn't like it. Anyways looking forward to seeing it Thursday.

like I have no context to who he is, so maybe there is some history there or something, but the anger is crazy.

I actually think this sounds cool if it was well executed. Like Batmans whole support system being rocked by psychological warfare makes Slade feel like Slade and not just giving the general audience the "bad ass dude with swords from that Arkham game I played"
Joe Manganiello reveals the plot of Ben Affleck's scrapped Batman movie from his memoir 'Bloodlines': Affleck's film was pitched as "a superhero version of David Fincher's The Game" where Deathstroke tries to "dismantle Batman's entire life"— Including killing Gordon, taking Alfred hostage, and nearly killing Batman & Batgirl.

like obviously I think Matt and Robs Batman is by far the best in live action and understands the character in ways I dreamt of my whole life, so I ain't complaining, but I would love to have read this script.

Part 1 they had to shut down because COVID, then Matt geared up and directed looking like The Riddler. Part 2 Matt is clearly giving his all while also going through whatever deeply serious thing he's dealing with. Part 3 he will be on set while the bombs are dropping.

Other than his previous comments that seemingly embrace AI in the filmmaking process (hard disagree there) Soderbergh is a fucking machine who respects the craft and filmmakers vision like few others. I don't think he will do a thing without having Matt on the phone to approve.

I think the reason he offered to step in is because he didn't want there to be another Whedon situation or for the movie to suffer because Matt physically cannot be there right now.

Just to be clear, I am not leaving The Batman Part II. I am profoundly grateful to Steven for coming to my aid during this challenging time to help me finish principal photography. Thank you to all for your concern and well wishes. 🦇
