I hate 'fish out of water' movies. "Look at these normal people in a strange world. We have to spend the entire movie experiencing the world through their eyes. We have to explain everything and make snarky jokes about every single thing." Minecraft has been around for 15 years. People who played it now have kids who play it. The audience for the movie will be people who have played, know and understand the Minecraft world. It doesn't need to be explained to them. This could have been a self contained movie within Minecraft. Not the typical, generic 'fish out of water' trope Hollywood always feeds us. Eg: "This is a crafting table." Yes. I know what a crafting table is. Everyone does. We don't need to spend ten minutes learning about the crafting table, making jokes about it and then crafting items which do not exist. Throwing a bunch of random items onto the crafting table and creating some strange item is a not how the crafting table works. The movie has instantly broken Minecraft lore. The audience knows what Minecraft is. The people who made the movie do not. This movie will be garbage. But it didn't need to be. That's my rant.
