The universe has a musical side. 🎶
Meet the Treble Clef, an unusual radio structure stretching more than 2 million light-years across space. Its shape is striking, but the science behind it is even more fascinating.
Studying structures like this can reveal how galaxy clusters interact and evolve. In this composite, radio emission appears in red, X-rays in blue, and infrared data in white: go.nasa.gov/3WCV89U
As we get ready for the @astrosociety Von Braun Space Exploration Symposium, we’re excited to share Tori’s Thoughts with the Higher Orbits community about her journey & the upcoming conference.

We’re 3 for 3 in orbit this October. This time, it’s space drugs. W-7 carries pharmaceutical hardware and a promising new type of cancer medicine known as a protein degrader. Microgravity will help overcome one of its biggest limitations: poor solubility.

Midland students are taking their ideas to space!🚀 Five MISD students who participated in the past Higher Orbits Go for Launch! Midland series will prepare experiments for the International Space Station, with launch planned in late 2027.
@HigherOrbits
Last week we had the privilege of working with the stellar students of Midland, TX for our 14th Go For Launch! in their cosmic community.
From team challenges to experiment design work, the students showed that they all have The Right Stuff!

#NASAWebb has pinpointed the host galaxy of the most distant fast radio burst ever seen. The galaxy proved surprisingly small and young, which provides a clue to the source of the burst: news.stsci.edu/4hEmZip 🔭

ALT A field full of small galaxies of all shapes against the blackness of space. A few bright white stars show 8 prominent diffraction spikes. A small galaxy at lower right is highlighted with a white box. A shaded triangle extends upward to the corners of a larger box showing a zoom in of the region. Two fuzzy, light blue blobs are at center of the box, with a larger and brighter one at top. Just above the top blob is a white crosshair showing the location where a fast radio burst was detected.
