OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR MIKE DEWINE By Jack Windsor Governor Mike DeWine (R-OH) called the Statehouse press corps to the Capitol Rotunda Thursday morning to tell Vivek Ramaswamy to take down his ad featuring Donna Arthur, the mother of Dr. Amy Acton. DeWine, per The Columbus Dispatch: “It was just wrong to run this ad.” And: “The ad on its face is deeply, deeply troubling but when you know the rest of the story, when you know the backstory, when you know that the husband of the mom was indicted by a grand jury after hearing testimony and that he took off along with the mother and that two children never saw the mother after that.” The Dispatch reports he said that after talking about his history as a county prosecutor defending child rape victims. He did not pull his endorsement of Ramaswamy. Governor, child victims deserve a protector who shows up every time. Not just when the victim served in your Cabinet. Dr. Acton is the Democrat nominee for governor and your former Ohio Department of Health director. She is a candidate. She has told her childhood story in public — she used it in the 2019 profile. Now, does that justify using her mom in a commercial? That’s a different discussion for a different day. But today, we need to talk about a legal standard, since you brought up your previous work as a prosecutor — equal justice under the law. In essence: we’re to have one standard, not two or many. The Acton campaign used sexual abuse as an attack on Vivek Ramaswamy. His campaign ran a property tax ad built around a woman named Patty Edwards, filmed at the Lorain County Fair. Her husband, Vernon Edwards, appeared in background footage. On Oct. 14, The Bulwark reported Vernon Edwards pleaded guilty in 2006 to gross sexual imposition involving a minor. The Ramaswamy campaign said it had no knowledge of his record and cut him from the ad. Then the Acton campaign went to work. Spokeswoman Addie Bullock: “Vivek Ramaswamy deliberately choosing to amplify a convicted pedophile is not only disgusting, it’s completely disqualifying.” On Oct. 16, the campaign published a release titled “Vivek Ramaswamy Airs Ad Featuring Convicted Child Sex Offender.” It quoted news reports that the victims were his nieces, under 13. Acton repeated the “convicted pedophile” line in interviews this week. Vernon Edwards is a private citizen. His case is 20 years old. His victims are children in his own family. The Acton campaign put that case, those victims and that family back in the headlines to smear Vivek Ramaswamy. Aren’t those also the victims you prosecuted for? Where was your call to take that down? Governor, here are my questions: Did you publicly object to the Acton campaign’s use of Vernon Edwards’ case and the children in his family? When and where? If not, tell Ohio why the line you drew Thursday morning covers a candidate and not the private citizens and children who never asked to have their abuse spotlighted in this race. _ _ _ Jack Windsor is founder and editor-in-chief of The Ohio Press Network and host of The Windsor Report on 98.9 FM The Answer.

We the Taxpayers are compelled to confront an intolerable reality: we are forced to underwrite an annual transfer of roughly $645 million in emoluments exclusive of salary and benefits to just 100 senators, and another $810–844 million to 453 representatives. These sums, rendered tax-free, are extracted from the productive labor of ordinary citizens so that members of Congress may “do their job.” Reflect on that figure the next time you observe these same officials gliding through the capital in chauffeured Cadillac Escalades or stumbling through scripted statements prepared by staffers whose salaries they themselves authorize. This is not governance. It is the mature expression of Parkinson’s Law applied to a once-temporary civic duty. Cyril Northcote Parkinson observed that work expands to fill the time available for its completion and that bureaucracy multiplies subordinates, invents busywork, and grows irrespective of actual output. The history of the United States Congress is the textbook demonstration of that law. In 1789 the First Congress fixed compensation at a modest $6 per diem for days actually attended, plus $6 for every twenty miles traveled. Sessions were brief. Annual earnings for a diligent member hovered around $1,000 in nominal terms. There was no fixed salary, no pension, no health plan, and virtually no personal staff. Members handled their own correspondence, lived in boarding houses, and treated service as intermittent public duty rather than a lifelong profession. The franking privilege existed; little else did. Today a rank-and-file member draws a fixed salary of $174,000—unchanged since 2009 only because automatic cost-of-living adjustments have been repeatedly blocked by political necessity rather than principle. Leadership positions command still more. Each House member controls a Members’ Representational Allowance averaging roughly $1.9 million; senators receive multi-million-dollar official expense accounts scaled to the size of their states. These funds underwrite sizable personal and district staffs, offices, travel, and mass mailings. After five years of service, members enter the Federal Employees Retirement System. Substantial government contributions toward health premiums flow through the District of Columbia exchange. A death gratuity equal to a full year’s salary awaits their survivors. What began as a handful of shared clerks has metastasized into an elaborate institutional apparatus dedicated first to its own perpetuation.Parkinson’s Law explains the trajectory with pitiless clarity. Once Congress seized the power to set its own compensation and operating budgets, the incentives inverted. Officials multiply subordinates because each new aide generates additional process that justifies still more aides. Fixed salaries and benefits detach members from the financial risks borne by ordinary citizens. Multi-million-dollar office allowances guarantee that the organization never lacks resources to expand. The result is a self-licking ice-cream cone: more staff to manage more process, more process to justify more staff, and ever-greater insulation from the voters who pay the bill. The founding generation understood that modest pay and sparse support kept legislators close to the people and constrained the appetite for permanent power. Modern Congress has inverted that logic. It has professionalized itself into a career track whose growth is wholly decoupled from legislative productivity or public accountability. Taxpayers fund the expansion; citizens endure the gridlock, the opacity, and the steady accretion of privileges.Parkinson predicted the pattern. Congress has merely executed it—with our money.

I feel that the 25th anniversary of 9/11 has caused a critical mass of Americans to reach an inflection point on their understanding of that event. We are starting to realize that we lost the Global War on Terror. We did not lose it on military grounds. We lost it on spiritual grounds. Domestically we are succumbing to the goals of Sharia and jihad, which was EXACTLY what the 9/11 terrorists sought to bring about with their heinous actions. Now that more and more people are seeing this, we can combat it--not with tanks and bombs and rifles alone, but with our words, voices and votes. We must actively combat the Islamification of America. Sharia and jihad are wholly incompatible with the Constitution. Islam is a political movement hiding beneath the cover of freedom of religion. When a "religion" itself is not free, it is no longer a religion and no longer enjoys the protections the Constitution affords. Spread the word.

I rarely ask for repost but if you could share this….heartbreaking they are asking for help and can’t even get a response @SarahHuckabee Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, I am sitting at Arkansas Children’s Hospital with my 2-year-old son, Turner, and I can literally see the State Capitol from his hospital window. We will be here until Sunday at the earliest, and possibly longer if things do not go the way we hope. His doctors are telling us that even when Turner is stable enough to leave the hospital, he needs significant support to keep him safe at home. That support is available through Arkansas’s CES Waiver, but Turner cannot access it because he is sitting on the waiting list. I have tried countless times to set up a meeting with you and have been turned down every time. So this time, I am asking you to come to us. Please come visit Turner and me at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Come see for yourself how sick he is. Let me tell you what it is like to have a 2-year-old with a rare, progressive neurodegenerative disease and severe epilepsy, and what it is like to be told that your child needs more support to safely live at home while also being told that the state support meant for children like him is unavailable because of a waiting list. Let me tell you what this is doing to our family too. I am missing work right now because my child is hospitalized. I miss work for appointments, hospital stays, seizures, therapies, illnesses, and all of the things that come with raising a medically complex child. I am exactly where I need to be, beside my son, but families cannot keep being expected to absorb lost income while also being denied the very supports that could help keep their children safe at home. Governor Sanders, I am not asking you to read another report about the CES Waiver waitlist. I am asking you to come meet one of the children sitting on it. Turner is an Arkansas child, and he needs help now, not years from now. Please come see him, sit with us for a few minutes, and let me tell you what his doctors are saying he needs when he goes home. I want you to see for yourself what this waiting list actually looks like for a family living it. For…Paige Kordsmeier McCammon

It's high time we all start calling them what they are: COMMUNISTS. I know, I know, the responses are canned: "Learn what communism means, idiot." "It's not communism, it's democratic socialism, not the same thing." "The government has not seized the means of production, jerk." (NOTE: Yeah, but they want to, and in some cases like health care and "green" energy they basically have.) "Read Marx, imbecile." I DO read Marx. And Lenin. And Engels. And the Frankfurt School. And modern critical theorists.. It's all communism because it all follows Marx's denial of objective truth (i.e., today's critical theory) and it all consists solely of pitting demographic groups against each other to achieve and maintain power. IT'S ALL COMMUNISM. Make them own it. Make them own the fact that they are communists. Make them own the fact that their belief system has murdered more millions of humans than all other "-isms" in world history combined. Make 'em own it. Out.

Mike Rowe just made Bill Maher's audience gasp. He says young men aren't volunteering, joining clubs, or doing anything productive because they're spending 2,100 hours a year staring at a screen. It's actually even worse than he said: the average Gen Z adult spends ~9 hours a day — over 3,200 hours a year — on a screen. This is the biggest reason for two decades of social decay: screens replaced face-to-face human contact.

“overpromising and underdelivering” SpaceX launched ~80-85% of ALL mass to orbit in 2025. To put that in context, China did ~8-10%. One private company outpaced the rest of Earth (far exceeding the two largest superpowers). 165 successful Falcon flights with zero failures. Reusable boosters flying 30+ times… What absolute shit journalism by Bloomberg. @elonmusk

This should have been done decades ago!-------------- Rules: 1. Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office. And no more perks go with them. 2. Congress (past, present, & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress must purchase their own retirement plan, just as ALL Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise at the same rate as the COLA for monthly Social Security recipients minus 1% if having a budget balance deficit. 5. Congress loses their current care system and participates in the same health care system (Medicare) as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people (i.e. NO MORE INSIDER TRADING!!!). 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congress made all these contracts by and for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor and privilege, NOT a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators should serve their term(s), then go home and go back to work … not get all kinds of freebies. Term limits of 2 terms and treat them like a regular citizen! I AGREE SO IM SHARING! Note: This should be done immediately!!!

You don’t lose rights overnight. You lose them structurally, one layer of pooled authority at a time. Weimar Germany didn’t collapse because people wanted tyranny. It collapsed because centralized monetary control erased stability, then emergency powers replaced due process. Once the system concentrated both financial and legal authority, citizens were no longer protected—they were managed. The same pattern appeared in the USSR, where property rights were dissolved into state control, eliminating any real exit. When everything is pooled, failure is synchronized. Venezuela followed the same blueprint. Centralized revenue, centralized currency, centralized enforcement. Once the economy cracked, there was nowhere to step outside the blast radius. Argentina repeated the cycle through inflationary finance and policy volatility—again, not because of intent, but because centralized systems amplify errors across the entire population. The income tax system operates on that same structural principle: pooled authority over earnings, opaque enforcement, and asymmetric burden of proof. That’s not a moral claim—it’s a systems observation. When financial control and legal discretion concentrate together, the risk isn’t abuse every day. The risk is that when pressure hits, there are no constraints left. AGCL breaks that structure by removing the pooling mechanism itself. The FairTax eliminates embedded enforcement layers tied to income, replacing them with transparent consumption-based funding. That alone reduces the need for invasive oversight because the system no longer depends on monitoring individual earnings flows. Gold lockboxes and absolute property rights create separation between citizens and systemic monetary risk. Instead of being forced participants in a single currency regime, individuals hold assets outside centralized manipulation. That’s not about predicting collapse—it’s about surviving it without total exposure. Debt discipline through Hamiltonian credit prevents the silent expansion that drives these cycles in the first place. When governments can’t offload risk through hidden monetary expansion, the system stops transferring instability downstream to citizens. This isn’t about whether the current system feels tolerable today. Every historical example looked manageable—until it didn’t. The shift is always gradual, then sudden. The question isn’t whether abuse is happening now. The question is whether the structure allows it when conditions change. If the answer is yes, the risk already exists. Start building systems that don’t require trust in centralized discretion. Share this. Challenge assumptions. Organize around structural alternatives before pressure forces the issue.
