Writing is the superpower of humankind. It is our truest form of magic.
Writing allows you to conjure up something of value where nothing previously existed. It costs little for you to write down the lessons of your life and yet those few minutes spent writing can be life-altering for the right reader. As I once saw it put: "there is someone out there with a wound in the exact shape of your words."
Furthermore, writing is the foundation of nearly every technology and innovation because we have to record what we know before we can build upon it. And these innovations are passed down from generation to generation, allowing our children to inherit a richer intellectual fortune than what we were born into. The world is richer because we write and nobody is made poorer in the process.
Two of my fave women have bdays this month!! 🥹❤️🥳
From @notlaide, I learn compassion and kindness in all areas of life. You can’t be friends with her and not become a better person.
From @IwalolaSobowale, I learn resilience and brilliance. A wealth of knowledge personified!
Can’t believe I’m missing this! Iwa has a way of bringing so much knowledge and experience to the table while making everything engaging and easy to understand! 🤩🤩
Birthday girl is speaking at Moonshot next week! Thu 29 Oct, 3:40pm, Workshop Stage.
It’s a quick 10 min workshop on how CX, UX, market research and product work together to build the technology people use.
I’ll also be sharing some tidbits on the primary framework from my book “Designing Usable Products for African Users” coauthored with @notlaide and @Hillary_LO
To help me prepare for my session, I have a question for you: what’s one thing you believe about your users that you’ve never tested? And why haven’t you tested this belief?
See you at Moonshot! And come prepared with your answer, because I just might pick on you.

Amazingg! Congrats ✨
Seven years later, I successfully defended my thesis, with honours, for a Doctorate in Business (Finance; Cryptoeconomics) at @IEbusiness.
My dissertation, "Blockchain-Based Tokenisation in Emerging Markets: Effects on Price Formation, Velocity, and Market Accessibility", is one of the early empirical studies of tokenisation from an emerging-market perspective.
The work also develops frameworks around token issuance accounting, moral hazard in token design, network effects in digital-asset adoption, and the influence of supply mechanics on token prices.
Rare sighting of me in a suit below.
I dream about the ferragamo hug bag at least once a week. That’s how I know it’ll be my year end gift to myself
Amazingggg show!!!

I like this, and my wife and I have had far too many 2am moments.
But, don't take away that you need to be fully self-actualized before marriage. Some lessons can't be learned without experience. What matters is commiting to turn toward each other in those moments, not away.

You get? Let’s make this schmoney! I’m really interested in working with VCs on this and open to conversations around that.
I’m also carrying out some primary research at @usabilityforAF with @notlaide and @Hillary_LO
We can’t wait to put the work out there!

I wrote an article on "How to Not Get Divorced (as an ambitious person)."
It lists:
-The things that break relationships
-How my most successful clients keep their marriages
-Real tactics to use today
One of the most shared newsletters of the year:
drgurner.substack.com/p/how-…
I take @ftweekend book recommendations very seriously so next on my non-fiction list is On the Future of Species 🤤
Dog-eared and over-highlighted my copy 😅
Reading The Infinity Machine and learning the evolution of AGI and the hunt for the singularity has been so eye-opening. So much of what we’re seeing in AI today makes more sense with the historical context. By a mile the best non-fiction book I’ve read this year.

Super pumped to be speaking at @Uniglobal’s 22nd Annual Global Microfinance & Financial Inclusion Forum in Barcelona, March 2027! I’ll be speaking alongside leaders from @IFC, @GrameenFoundation, @Kiva, @UNDP, and @BBVA Microfinance Foundation.
My keynote: “Beyond Access: Designing Products and Systems That Drive Long-Term Financial Engagement.”
The datapoint I’m focused on: mobile money now has 2.3 billion registered accounts globally, but only 593 million monthly active users. Which means nearly 75% of registered accounts are dormant. Getting people in is not the same as keeping them.
The session draws on original research from the @Hervestng Financial Empowerment Index 2026 (where I volunteered as research analyst) and the Annual State of UX in Africa study by myself and my co-founders @UsabilityforAfrica @Hillary_LO and @notlaide. I’ll also be relying heavily on frameworks from my two forthcoming books.
What it boils down to: keeping users is an intelligence infrastructure problem and not just a product problem and I’m looking forward to making that case in Barcelona. Happy to discuss with anyone else who’ll be there.
Pls how can make $1m before the end of the year?? I know it’s still possible 🥹🙏@Ssaasquatch
