Grateful doesn’t begin to cover it.
This week, Board Chair Alex Santillana joined by Board Treasurer Jill Wheeler traveled to Puerto Rico. They generously gave their time & expertise to walk alongside partners at @SurfriderPR and @sagradoedu strengthening relationships and seeing our mission in action. Their visit embodied our core value of Service to Community, mission-focused, teamwork, belonging & collaboration.
As CEO, I felt deeply supported and full of gratitude.
This is our mission & vision in action: walking alongside communities as a leadership & network catalyst, cultivating Latino leaders, expanding networks of trust, and building collective power for a thriving nation.
Real change happens when leaders move together.

Cesar E. Chavez National Monument is not about one man, but the countless Americans of Latino and Filipino descent who fought for dignity, better working conditions and fair wages. That important history should not and cannot be erased. bit.ly/3QnZ7nH

The farmworkers movement is about more than just one man. Defunding and abolishing a monument erases the history of hardworking people who fought tooth and nail for workers’ rights, including survivors of Chavez’s abuse.
