Why Germany is yet to apologise for Namibia genocide? Even in Australia interest is high in how Germany deals with the Herero and Nama genocide and how cultural warriers are trying to turn the wheel back toward colonial apologetics. My interview with ABC: abc.net.au/listen/programs/s…

Italians in NY were described as sub-human, "the worst of the worst". Those who forget their own history are often the very same who adopt racist stereotypes today.

A partire dall'abolizionismo, nato in Africa, e dall'universalismo di Haiti. mondadorieducation.it/la-que…

Another one for my Pan-Africans, this week we dive into the many and varied African civilizations. The idea that Afrika was the land of darkness cannot live in our minds. Viva Afrika!

Gramsci

During slavery, slaveholders sometimes allowed enslaved Africans to preach to others in bondage, but they often required a white supervisor to be present to ensure that the sermons promoted obedience to slaveholders. Preachers were expected to focus on Bible verses such as Ephesians 6:5, which instructed servants to obey their masters, while avoiding passages that challenged the authority of slaveholders or reminded them of their own moral obligations.

White slaves to Holland and proof of Africa's resistance to colonialism happened today in 1670: The Battle of Kitombo ended in total defeat for Portuguese, which invaded the independent Soyo State (Angola) to curtail its growing power and to enslave its people. The Soyo kill most of the 500 Portuguese soldiers and their allies in battle, and sell the survivors as white slaves to the Dutch.

This is what the British called "civilization." April 1953. Mathare Valley, Kenya. They suspected the village of hiding freedom fighters. So they brought in bulldozers. Flattened every home. They didn't just steal the land. They erased the people on it. And 70 years later, the UK still has military bases in Kenya. The empire never left. They just changed the uniforms.

How Winston Churchill admitted, indeed boasted, that Britain’s power & prosperity were tied to Atlantic slavery even before Eric Williams’ thesis was published. Great stuff from Kenneth Mohammed: theguardian.com/global-devel…
