It may not seem that these two things have anything in common, but they do! They are a teaser for our next exhibit, which will focus on Bill Smith, award-winning Black jewelry designer from @MadisonIndiana !

#costumejewelry friends. I’m in need of a copy of Adorning Fashion: The History of Costume Jewellery to Modern Times by D Farmeti Cera for some brief research. Is anyone able to help? Thank you!
It’s a beautiful morning for our final day of #MadisoninBloom! Tickets on sale now! The museum is also open so you can view the Art of the Dress exhibit, which closes July 1. #museum #gardentour #vintagefashion #vintageclothing
We were recently gifted with a beautiful 1920’s wedding dress, veil & shoes. It had been stored in an ordinary cardboard box w/regular tissue paper. Once we’ve examined it, she will be properly stored for a future exhibit. This is what happens when you wrap silk in regular tissue

We’re back! Like most museums, we were hit hard by the pandemic. We took the time to do a thorough inventory (10k+ items!) and our Dir. of Ed., JoAnne Spiller, put together a textiles exhibit on view until July 1. Here’s a peek!
