To remember that your late father, Mzee Gideon Kateshumbwa, both taught me and ushered me into the UPC youth wing in the early 60s is to remind me that our roots run far deeper than politics.
My family and I remain profoundly grateful for this enduring bond.
Honored to join @KamuntuProf , MP Sheema South and Minister of Internal Affairs, as he hosted @KagutaMuseveni at Bugongi Stadium for his Thanksgiving Ceremony.
The President appreciated Sheema's progress in development and urged leaders to continue "kwinegyeza": encouraging, sensitizing and urging our people to get out of poverty.
I thank God for Prof. Kamuntu's life and treasure his contribution. My late father, Gideon Kateshumbwa, recruited him into the UPC youth wing in the early 60s when he was a party leader in Ankole, and also taught him at school. Our family ties are deeply rooted.

Today, I joined the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, @EngJonard , at the TRIDI Rubaare Silk Farm in Sheema Municipality to assess the status of sericulture and its prospects for our people. Silk farming offers real opportunities for household incomes, youth employment and value addition right here at home. I am committed to supporting initiatives that turn innovation into jobs and prosperity for Sheema.

The Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation – Office of the President, Hon. Eng. Jonard Asiimwe Akiiki, is visiting the Rubare Sericulture and Apiculture Project in Sheema District to review its status and discuss the way forward.
The project was established to improve livelihoods. The Minister is focused on supporting its revival, bringing stakeholders together and ensuring that the resources already invested translate into productive outcomes.
The people of Sheema have a strong attachment to the project, which they say was introduced to the district about 10 years ago. The Ministry will work with stakeholders to identify a clear path forward.

Deeply saddened by last night's accident at Kabwohe Stage in Sheema Municipality, where a trailer lost control and rammed into several vehicles, claiming at least [Three] lives, with others injured and property destroyed.
To the bereaved families, my heartfelt condolences. To the injured, I wish a quick and full recovery. I thank the @PoliceUg , health workers at Kabwohe HC IV and the good Samaritans who rushed to help.
This again reminds us of the state of the Mbarara-Ishaka road and the danger of heavy trucks passing through our busy town. I will keep pushing for urgent action.
To all road users: please drive carefully, especially at night. 🙏
