In 2024, Earth’s average surface temperature surpassed 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. “The warming is accelerating, which is a really worrying sign,” says PIK Director @jrockstrom. What does this mean for the stability of our planet?youtube.com/watch?v=Rphpxvl_…

“We are now in a supercharged El Niño,” explains PIK Director Johan Rockström, stating that even more extreme events could lie ahead in the coming months. This can already be felt in extreme events in tropical regions. youtube.com/watch?v=j_lNH2df…

While people whinge about the tiny amount of rewilding that’s happening, Britain’s birds have dropped to the lowest levels recorded yet. Nature is blinking out all around us. theguardian.com/environment/…

You want a safe future for humanity on Earth? Base all actions on science. IPCC provides us the basis for a manageable climate future for people today and tomorrow, across the entire world. Do not undermine it. canva.link/otb5443x9uitpy7

It's telling that the world's worst climate vandals are pushing for the IPCC's report to be delayed. Every fraction of a degree saves lives. Postponing the report would be devastating. theguardian.com/environment/…

The truth is we don’t remotely care as a country… this stuff isn’t even taken seriously by senior politicians The funding Rachel Reeves cut for farmers? That was largely for nature restoration Instead they pretended it was farm subsidies Bad mouthed us And took loads away
‘Shocking and sobering’: UK bird populations fall to lowest level on record Nearly half of species are in decline, with farmland birds and seabirds the worst hit, conservation bodies say 🐦 theguardian.com/environment/…

The slaughter of precious, fragile migrating birds in unfathomable numbers around the Mediterranean twice each year is an ecological calamity of global importance.
Replying to @CABS_REPORTS
Using song decoys, the poacher targeted migrating pied flycatchers—a illegally traded local "delicacy." Based on 40 birds caught in just one morning, we estimate this single site was wiping out ~100 songbirds every day. 💔 2/3

The mass slaughter of migrating birds across the Mediterranean each spring and autumn, for no reason other than kicks, is ecocide on a massive scale. The men who do this are perverts. Shame, shame on Egypt (Lebanon, Malta, etc.)
It's that time of the year on Facebook, folks. (Egypt).

Please, please 🙏 sign this petition..what’s happening here is indefensible..to destroy a 100 year old orchard 🌳 🌳 🌳 brimming with #biodiversity for a “green” busway! This country is already one of most nature depleted in the world and yet this environmental vandalism continues. c.org/n5fKzPn9Jq
Melancholy this evening. Trying to find the closing words to speak for a place that should not have needed defending. What will the turtle doves, house martins, fieldfares… and cuckoos return to next season, if they return❓ #SaveCotonOrchard ✏️ change.org/p/save-the-green-…
