UVA's new corporate membership starts at $25K a year, and members get credits to spend instead of a fixed sponsor package. The Cavalier Alliance Network comes with a B2B member directory, quarterly networking events, a concierge inside the department and priority ticket access. Credits can go toward gameday hospitality, athlete marketing campaigns, recruiting and job listings, or advertising. It runs separately from the Virginia Athletics Foundation, so a company pays for it out of its marketing budget instead of its giving budget. More than 100 businesses already sponsor UVA. What makes this interesting to me is the directory. If the members are alumni-owned companies that start doing business with each other, the department gets credit for those deals, and renewals get a lot easier to sell. @VirginiaSports
