Son - "why does this bloke bang on about maps in each and every overview, if you ask me it is an absolute waste of time?" Old man - "you obviously don't bet in Tassie".

I agree. Two obvious fixes are needed: horses can't be doubly declared and horses can't be withdrawn on the ground of an unfavourable draw. There would be many fewer withdrawals under these rules, to general benefit.

The whole of the NSW & VIC racing industry waiting on Chris Waller’s decision making, or lack there of. Media, form analysts, bookmakers, jockeys, rival trainers, punters… everyone. It’s just embarrassing for the sport.

Watch Kingsley explain what we spoke about at #BackingThePunt below. 👇 @TheKingZoneForm is a professional / sharp punter who wants to bet legally, in his own name, with Australian bookmakers. Yet when the early markets go up, he says he can realistically bet with 3 bookies and get roughly $800 on at a time. There are 140+ licensed online bookmakers in Australia. At Backing The Punt there was plenty of concern about wagering dollars leaking offshore. The conference itself highlighted the growth of illegal offshore gambling as a major industry issue. If a legitimate Australian customer, betting in their own name, has to go to extraordinary lengths simply to get an early bet on because they’re considered “sharp”… where exactly do we expect that customer to go? And NSW, in particular, deserves a serious look. You can’t be concerned about money going offshore while making it unnecessarily difficult for winning customers to bet onshore. I'm enjoying the archived video's the team are putting out on @TheKingZoneForm page. Thoughts?

Melbourne was already the sporting capital, from back when Jesus ran a 1 minute mile on Port Phillip Bay, but today put another very big jewel on the crown. Just an amazing show of sport and entertainment under the southern sun.

I think it's great that people from the NFL have come here and said how great our city is, considering a certain side of politics want to tell everyone how shit it is these days. Proud to be born and bred in Melbourne.

The board at Rochdale say they will not make any 'knee-jerk' decisions after their poor start to the season. They also invited supporters to a fans forum, where the club's co-chairman Simon Gauge and head coach Ian Watson will be in attendance. #RAFC #BBCFootball
