Happy Suit it up Sunday! The NYC Marathon is the world’s largest, held the first Sunday in November.​ It started in 1970 in Central Park and expanded to all five boroughs in 1976.​ Runners go 26.2 miles from Staten Island to Central Park.​ Today (Nov. 1, 2026) is the 55th race and 50th anniversary of the five-borough course!

Solemnity of All Saints Reading 1 Revelation 7: 2-4, 9-14 I, John, saw another angel come up from the East, holding the seal of the living God. He cried out in a loud voice to the four angels who were given power to damage the land and the sea, "Do not damage the land or the sea or the trees until we put the seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God." "If you lend money to one of your poor neighbors among my people, you shall not act like an extortioner toward him by demanding interest from him.  If you take your neighbor's cloak as a pledge, you shall return it to him before sunset; for this cloak of his is the only covering he has for his body.  What else has he to sleep in? If he cries out to me, I will hear him; for I am compassionate." Reading 2 1 Thessalonians 1: 5c-10 Brothers and sisters: You know what sort of people we were among you for your sake. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.  The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments."

Show me the coin that pays the census tax."  Then they handed him the Roman coin. He said to them, "Whose image is this and whose inscription?"  They replied, "Caesar's." At that he said to them, "Then repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God."
