We felt that it would be a fitting time to introduce him to those who haven't had the privledge of knowing his story and feeling the indelible impact he had on so many people. You can read more about his journey at the link here and posted in our bios. It's a story we are proud to tell. Our son inspired. He was courageous and brave. He was beautiful and sweet. He left a mark on anyone that came into his presence, and we are determined to ensure his legacy lives on forever. The people - it is impossible to tell Michael's story without acknowledging the people who poured into our son's care. Their committment, poise and determination was palpable. The tears we shed TOGETHER. The laughter that often filled the room. The relationships built that will last a lifetime and will always allow us to look back on that journey with a sense of joy and love - not darkness. God blesses us always. Sometimes those blessings are hard to see, but if we truly open our hearts and put our faith in Him, we are always rewarded by His love. God put Michael on earth to do great things and we have chosen to carry out that mission in his honor. The care Michael recieved at Children's Mercy was extrordinary and gave us precious time with our son. We are going to give back in Michael's name to support the NICU ECMO program at Children's. This fund is the best way we know to ensure Michael's legacy is lasting and that his fighter's spirit will be used to create better opportunity for families that venture on the same journey we took with our boy. To those who donated to this ECMO fund when we celebrated Michael last November, THANK YOU! We have endured because of the army of friends and family that wrapped their arms around us the last two years. For those who feel called to join us on this mission, THANK YOU!
