When we started Reach A Hand Uganda in 2011, our mission was simple: empower young people to be the change-makers in their communities. Today, as we’ve grown across 56 districts, challenges have become more complex, shifting global funding threatens SRHR programs, while teenage pregnancy, school dropout, and gender-based violence continue to impact young people. That’s why I’m proud to introduce Reach A Hand Global Inc, our new US-based fundraising arm, a strategic pivot toward sustainability and building stronger global partnerships. Together, we can ensure the vital work we do with young people isn’t dependent on funding tides, but backed by long-term support. To everyone who has walked with me since 2011, thank you. You’ve seen us through every low and every high. Now, I’m inviting you to join us in this new chapter to go higher than ever in amplifying youth voices on a global stage and deepening our impact at home. Donate today and create change to shape the future of more young people across Uganda with us: every.org/reach-a-hand-ugand… #YoungPeopleForYoungPeople #RAHUAt15

Peer education is not young people repeating adult instructions. It is young people translating knowledge into language their peers understand and trust. At Seeta High School, we saw why youth participation must remain central to every programme designed for them. #ReachAHandAfrica #BeBetter

The most important question during a school outreach is often the one a student was afraid to ask. The Be Better campaign creates room for young people to speak openly, learn without judgement and receive information they will use long after the session ends. #ReachAHandAfrica #BeBetter

A school prepares students for examinations. It must also prepare them for pressure, relationships, health choices and life beyond the school gate. Yesterday, our Be Better School Outreach brought these conversations to Seeta High School Main Campus through peer learning and inspiration talks. #ReachAHandAfrica #BeBetter

A nomination must come from a process the industry trusts. This year’s nominees were considered through a diligent process led by a diverse jury of filmmakers who brought professional experience, different perspectives and careful judgement to the task. I appreciate their service to African cinema. #iKONAwards2026 #BeyondBorders

Our 2026 theme, Beyond Borders, reflects a larger ambition. African cinema grows stronger when we see one another’s work, celebrate our different perspectives and build connections across the continent. Our stories and talent extend far beyond national boundaries. #iKONAwards2026 #BeyondBorders

Talent is an opportunity, but opportunity needs work. At USEA Faces of Impact, my message was that young people should develop their abilities into services, businesses and solutions which create income and improve their communities. Your passion should build more than attention. It should build value. #USEAFacesofImpact #ReachAHandUganda

Drawing from my experience building Reach A Hand Africa, I encouraged young people to keep learning, creating value and building relationships, even when every resource is not yet available. Talent starts the journey. Discipline, partnerships and business systems turn it into a livelihood. #USEAFacesofImpact #ReachAHandUganda

I also challenged the industry to measure progress beyond the number of films produced. We should examine how many sustainable jobs each production creates for writers, actors, editors, cinematographers, sound teams, costume designers and production managers. #USEAFacesofImpact #ReachAHandUganda

On Uganda’s film industry, I argued that talent and compelling stories are already present. The next task is building a sector where filmmakers earn consistently through production investment, professional training, financing, distribution and intellectual property protection. #USEAFacesofImpact #ReachAHandUganda

Young people often ask how they should turn talent into a career. My response today was practical: identify the problem your skill solves, understand who values the solution and develop a model through which they will pay for it. Talent becomes an enterprise when it consistently creates value. #USEAFacesofImpact #ReachAHandUganda

At today’s #USEAFacesofImpact discussion, I argued that Uganda’s problem is not a shortage of talent. The gap lies between talent and income. Young creatives need training, financing, contracts, distribution and access to paying audiences. Without these systems, talent stays visible but economically insecure. #ReachAHandUganda
