Update: Crews located a fire on the back deck that extended into the home. The fire is under control, and crews are working on overhaul. All occupants safely evacuated prior to our arrival and were evaluated by Fire Medics on scene.

At the request of the State of Colorado, South Metro Fire Rescue is deploying an 8-person crew to Archuleta County to assist with the devastating flooding in Pagosa Springs. The Swift Water Rescue Team includes a Water Rescue Group Supervisor, a Team Lead/Safety Officer, a Swift Water Officer, and 5 Swift Water Specialists. The group will be deploying with 4 vehicles, including one of SMFR’s specialized dive apparatus. This request marks the first time since 2013 that South Metro has deployed a similar team for flooding in Colorado. SMFR is honored to be fulfilling the request alongside our partners at the Greeley Fire Department.

Update: Crews located a fire in the garage of the home. The fire is under control, and crews are working on overhaul. No injuries have been reported. Thank you to Castle Rock Fire for your assistance on scene.

SMFR and @dcsheriff are on scene of a commercial vehicle fire at Hilltop Road and Merryvale Trail. The fire is out, and crews are working on containing a small fuel spill. No injuries have been reported.

SMFR and @ParkerPolice are responding to a reported single-family residential structure fire at 11828 Mill Valley St. Updates will follow as more information is confirmed.

Final Update: Crews offloaded approximately 40 gallons of fuel from the aircraft. The plane has been removed from the scene, and all SMFR units are returning to service.

Update: A Cessna 180 went off the side of Runway 17R upon landing. There was a single occupant on board who safely exited the aircraft prior to our arrival. No injuries were reported. Personnel from the SMFR Hazmat Team are working on offloading the remaining fuel from the plane.

Update: The gas line has been clamped, and the vehicle has been removed from the garage. SMFR’s Technical Rescue Team is now working to shore up and stabilize the damaged garage wall and ceiling.

Update: A vehicle crashed through the back wall of a garage, striking a gas meter. @XcelEnergyCO is on scene working to cap the damaged gas line to the residence. No injuries were reported to the driver or anyone inside the home. This will be an extended operation for the SMFR Technical Rescue Team, which will work to shore up and stabilize the damaged walls once the vehicle is removed. @CSP_News is investigating the incident with assistance from @jeffcosheriffco.
