Indiana being used AGAIN as an example of why vouchers produce bad results.
Who would choose an education policy that failed in other states? TX parents have the right to know this is an expensive, failed policy that will almost entirely benefit wealthy parents already sending their kids to private schools. @GinaForAustin @jamestalarico @RoyceWestTX @MomsAGAbbott @TexasAFT @UnionmanTX @dsknight84 @joshcowenMSU @RYHTexas @DisRightsTx @txstateteachers @tasanet @tepsamark #txlege

Indiana bill to dissolve school districts in places where half the students attend charters or private schools probably not going anywhere (yet). But bill giving charter schools a share of districts’ property tax revenue is heading to the Senate floor. chalkbeat.org/indiana/2025/0…

A very good bill. Last school year alone nearly $439 million public tax dollars were siphoned away into private, mostly religious, schools, with nearly no guardrails. Guardrails are needed on a program that aims to be made universal this session. #sb320 indianacoalitionforpubliced.…

New Indiana bill would dissolve public schools in any district where 51% of students attend a private school, charter, or homeschool. Remaining district schools would become charters. I see 101 constitutional, policy, & financial problems. forbes.com/sites/petergreene…

🚨 BREAKING: @CNN reveals the devastating impacts of AZ’s universal #vouchers — warning the nation of our cautionary tale. @andersoncooper

Terrible. Vouchers are education’s predatory lending.
Setting aside that 3/4 voucher users were already in private school—and those schools reject anyone they want—vouchers devastate learning for the kids who do switch.
Worse than what COVID-19 and Katrina did to academics.
Jay-Z's Roc Nation will spearhead an educational campaign in Philadelphia that helps students K-12 from low-income households secure about $300 million in scholarships to attend the city's private schools.
Events will be held by Roc Nation to bring awareness to Pennsylvania Award for Student Success (PASS)—Senate Bill 757—legislation helping to increase education opportunities for underprivileged youth in lowest-performing public schools.

The real headline in the state’s report is that 67.5% of Indiana voucher users in 2023-24 had never been in Indiana public schools—up from 63.4% in 2022-23.
Nearly spot-on with every other state estimate of ~7/10 voucher users never having attended public school.
