The red line is when Republicans ended the national assault weapons ban.

Republicans in Florida want to stop girls from talking about their periods in school. In Idaho, they’ve rejected a bill that would have funded free menstrual products in public school bathrooms. And in Virginia, the Governor has made sure authorities could issue search warrants in order to seize a young girl or woman’s menstrual data. All of this, while they seek to criminalize abortion & deny a woman’s access to contraception. If this isn’t an all-out Handmaid’s Tale style assault on women and girls, I don’t know what is.

Lauren Boebert, who opposes reproductive rights and sex education, said her 17-year-old son is going to make her a 36-year-old grandmother next month. When asked how old her son’s girlfriend is, she would only say she’s “over the age of 14.” denverpost.com/2023/03/10/la…

GOP removed housing regulations —housing collapsed GOP removed railroad regulations—trains derailed GOP removed banking regulations —banks went under It’s almost like society needs rules to function?🤔 Stop deregulating billionaires. Start prosecuting those who commit fraud.

The relative silence from other groups re: AP African American Studies mess is quite... loud. Imagine a state trying to formally wipe Jewish history, Asian American history, or other marginalized groups from AP curricula. If they come for us, they can come for yall, too.

At a Florida school where teachers are being told to hide all books or risk 5 years in prison, “the kids began crying and writing letters to the principal, saying, ‘Please don’t take my books, please don’t do this.’” This is because of a new DeSantis law. washingtonpost.com/education…

Prediction: AI content from Jasper et al is going to get adopted big time by SEO teams, publishing velocity will go up, content quality will take a back seat, and the content will rank - but like most search short cuts, SEOs will lean into AI too hard, and Google will hammer it.

I'm still so upset that Gaga wasn't saying "red wine" at the start of Just Dance. I thought that was so cool.

you wake up. turn your phone on & blast blue light all over your face. with squinted eyes, you then proceed to read everyone’s opinions, which put you right in fight or flight mode before you even get out of bed. & you wonder why you are stuck in a loop of never-ending unease.

When I pitch a journalist through email, I try to write my subject line the same way the journalist writes their story headlines. Framing the story for them goes a long way, and shows you've actually done your research.

BREAKING: Kevin McCarthy has agreed to bring to the floor a bill that would impose a new 23% national sales tax on American families. That’s almost ALL goods and services purchases – from groceries and gas to food and medicine. This must fail. Please RT so EVERYONE sees this.

Hold on: House Republicans want a national 30% sales tax on everything from groceries to gasoline? They want to raise taxes on working-class & middle-class families while slashing them for millionaires & billionaires? Are they TRYING to show exactly how out of touch they are?

DeSantis banning AP African American Studies is a reminder of that old quote -- White privilege is when your history is the curriculum and every other history is an elective.

Republicans are now trying to shift taxes from the wealthy to the middle class by imposing a 30% national sales tax on everything you buy— groceries, cars, homes, health care, tuition. They’re calling it the “Fair Tax Act” because they think taxes on the wealthy are unfair.

The bizarre truth of Netflix's model (and all TV subscriptions): If a show's viewers have higher-than-avg subscriber churn, it'll get cancelled, even if it's literally the best, most-watched show on the service. Netflix isn't selling shows. They're optimizing for CLTV.
