1. PASSED MY ID BOARDS!! You are now looking at a board certified ID physician! This ends a decade long journey in medical training as a Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG). This was a challenging & fulfilling journey, with many people to thank. My journey as an FMG, in a thread 🧵

Every Sunday night prior to clinical service week, I have a flutter in my heart. Mix of nervousness/excitement/anticipation. Been the case despite doing this for more than a decade. It’s an honor and a responsibility to take care of patients. This is not a job but a way of life!

I have also started clicking the top right of a post and clicking “not interested” in the “for you” tab so it just doesn’t show me triggering stuff

It definitely isn’t what it was, it is now full of engagement farming and sponsored tweets filled with lies. What has helped me is trying to stick to the “following” tab and being much more mindful about curating my “following” list. Avoid the “for you” page.

This app will never be the same for doctors/science. I left because of the rampant anti Indian racism amongst many other things. But, I miss my friends/connects/collabs. Call me a foolish optimist but I want to try and curate my feed/take some control back or at least try to 🙂

@PaulSaxMD motivated me to post on x again. So come find me if you see me at @IDWeekmtg and reinforce my faith in humanity that good people can still use this app 😅

At IDWeek 2026, we presented our case-control study on carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales infections, which identified solid organ transplantation, prior antibiotic use, and cirrhosis as the primary drivers of CPE infections at our tertiary care center in Bogotá, Colombia.
