I’m the Real Wicked Witch of the West. A name bestowed upon me, in hatred, by my own community. For what? For refusing to share my small backyard, with a creek through it, with an entire county of half a million people. At the behest of those who wanted my backyard to become a park, I was sued by the Government who sought to take my land or force me to share. I fought tooth and nail for my property rights, took to social media with my story, and ultimately negotiated a victorious win/win outcome for myself and the community. My story went viral in the process and now hundreds of people from all over the world follow me as we shine a light on Government overreach and bang the drum (getting so loud you cannot be ignored) on property rights infringement cases all over America. I am *beyond grateful* to Infrastructure Junkies for the opportunity to continue telling my story and reaching new audiences. Of all the interviews I’ve done (a lot!) this has been one of the most thoughtful. I cannot thank the team enough for having me on the podcast and giving me a chance to speak to the journey - and the current advocacy work I do now - in such a holistic manner.
