She went no contact to protect her children, then faced years of attacks for “abandoning” him. Now people are criticising her for not publicly repeating those previously unsubstantiated claims, even though the police already knew and it was their job to handle them. No one is asking Beatrice and Eugenie to address what they must have known about their father’s ties to Epstein: that he lied in the Newsnight interview about cutting all contact with Epstein after 2010, that he hosted Epstein at Beatrice’s 18th birthday in 2006 (two months after a US arrest warrant for sexual assault of a minor), or that their mother took both of them to lunch with him days after his 2009 release for soliciting a minor.
