DHA & JP Wilson procrastinate over the introduction of Sarah’s Law, where this individual alongside UK notification would have had to register on entry to #IOM anyway. Let’s face it where would any paedo look at because they don’t have to register as such automatically.🙄🤔🇮🇲

A basic requirement for our tax pounds, fixing roads adhoc when required & planned systematic works, what’s so difficult for an infrastructure dept employed to do infrastructure. Perhaps wobble some heads out of there if they cant even do the basics. Too many not providing value.

It’s a bleak future for us all if MHK’s don’t get their act together quickly & impose a health levy as a minimum requirement for all the immigrants/retirees. Island residents are currently supporting a load of non contributors & low paid 🤷🏻‍♂️🇮🇲 wake up retirement isle = no income.

Astounding Sunday Times investigation reveals new scandal in SNP’s Socialist Scotland: 800 NHS, central government, council and quango workers whose jobs no longer exist but remain on the public payroll because of the SNP’s ‘no public-sector redundancy’ policy. Estimated cost of paying people to do nothing: £27m a year. One NHS Highland worker has been receiving a full salary and benefits for 17 years despite not having a specific job. The health board refused to say what the worker had been doing for almost two decades and how much they had been paid. Likely cost to the taxpayer is expected to be far higher with several public bodies refusing to disclose salaries for hundreds of the workers awaiting redeployment.

We also need a few top hatchet personnel (non affiliated to the #iom or ‘friends’ within) to carry out the programme of reducing a Government system we cannot afford & those staff we pay to manage the stuff we would like but now also cannot afford to deliver ie redundant posts 🤷🏻‍♂️

At least spending taxpayer funding to deliver bad infrastructure keeps infrastructure in jobs 🙄

There’s a lot of self-serving spin emanating from the UK government about how virtuous it is re fiscal consolidation. Here are the facts. Labour inherited an OBR budget deficit forecast of £87bn (3.1% GDP) for FY2024/25. After R Reeves’ 1st disastrous budget the actual deficit was £153bn (5.2%). Massive jump. Labour inherited OBR budget deficit of £77bn (2.7%) for FY2025/26. After RR’s disastrous 2nd budget that turned out to be £133bn (4.3%). So in its first two years it added over £120bn to borrowing/deficit (despite huge increase in taxes). The OBR forecast it inherited for this FY2026/27 was £69bn (2.3%). It is now forecast to be £116bn (3.3%). That looks like an underestimate. More likely to be closer to £130bn again. Inherited budget forecast for 2027/28: £51bn (1.6%). Latest forecast: £97bn (2.9%). Inherited budget forecast for 2028/29: £39bn (1.2%). Latest forecast: £86bn (2.5%). Far from fiscal consolidation Labour is forecast to borrow an incredible £260bn more over the 5 years from 2024/25 than the forecasts it inherited. Despite the tax rises. Which will continue. Alone among G7 countries the IMF projects the UK tax burden to rise by 3.7% of GDP 2025-31. The only other country with a rising tax burden is France (0.8%). Italy is static. Rest of G7 have falling tax burden. And let’s not forget Labour’s so-called ‘fiscal consolidation’ is all backloaded to end-decade. Unlikely to happen. So taxes will have to rise by even more.

We can only hope they both work together to deliver real change within Government as we have a clumsy governance institution we cannot afford & cannot work within a budget to deliver even the essential services as a first priority. As is they will cry for more tax & deliver less.

Reading - government faces difficult challenge even to ‘maintain current staffing levels’ There fixed it for you 😉
With immigration a big election concern & dramatically falling birth rates the next government faces a difficult challenge even to maintain current population levels. We certainly need an exceptional leader to get us through the challenges that lie ahead. player.captivate.fm/episode/…

FFS when the state feels it has to guide the public on Potty Training their own kids, surely, surely someone needs to wake up & get a grip of the downward trajectory this country is now on? Surely @andyburnham ?

MHK ‘difficult decisions’ usually involve how much more can they screw out of the public either by the tax route or stealth or cutting services to pay for the oversized underperforming Government system 🤷🏻‍♂️ We see you coming a mile off 👀

Whilst our Government salivates over the opportunities to employ more civil servants to over manage the financial regulatory industry the Chamber of Commerce is pissing in the wind for any growth let alone holding on to what we have 👎

Sadly we want more than optimism, we have to live within our means starting with the Government bloat who are now literally sitting there ‘managing’ less services & no money to deliver, wtf is all that about 🤷🏻‍♂️🇮🇲

The UK is going to hell in a handcart. The #IOM needs to up its immigration policy now & ensure those fleeing will be financially contributing & supporting our infra & services from day 1 or we will be joining them ☠️ No ifs or buts @alfredcannan @christhomasiom @Claire4MHK
